FITCHBURG » The Department of Public Works advises residents of the following work that will be done, weather permitting, during the week of June 27.

Road Construction

Monday — Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Expect road closures, delays and detours.

P. J. Albert Inc. will continue sidewalk and road reconstruction on Mill Street and Cushing Street. Businesses along Main Street and Boulder Drive are open during construction. Parking is available at the Mill Street and Putnam Street parking garages.

Two-way traffic is now permanent on both Main Street and Boulder Drive.

People are asked to follow traffic markings and visual aids. Police details will be on hand throughout the week to help ensure safety for vehicles and pedestrians. For more information, visit https:// bit.ly/3osdbgk.

Water main reconstruction work will continue on Cushing Street. Cushing Street will be permanently closed to vehicle traffic.

Unitil will conduct natural gas pipeline replacement projects in the areas of Oxford, Essex, Pearl, Mattson, Elm, and Clarendon streets. The contractors Neuco, S. Fors, RH White, Feeney Brothers and O.G. Croteau, plan to work from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Residents will be given notice on any planned service interruptions associated with the gas work. The work is scheduled to be completed this summer. All businesses on Mechanic Street will remain open during construction.

Combination Sanitary Sewer/storm Drain Separation Project

Monday-friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Expect detours, lane shifts, road closures and traffic delays.

South Street between Laurel Street and Nashua Street: Detour/temporary closure on South Street between Laurel Street and Nashua Street will continue as needed.

Trenchless sewer rehab work on Clarendon, Water, Saint Camille, and Woodland streets.

Minor traffic impacts:

Monday — Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Pothole repairs in all wards. Spot sweeping around the city. Repair water gate boxes at various locations.

Catch basin repair on Elizabeth Street.

Sidewalk repairs will be performed on Day Street.

Work on a new wall at Forest

Hill Cemetery may close part of the walkway around the cemetery.

Hydrants

Hydrant maintenance citywide.

Hydrant flushing in the Oak Hill Road, Fairmount Street, and River Street areas.

Use Seeclickfix to report maintenance requests or concerns including potholes, sidewalks, signs/signals, lights, parks, catch basins or manholes.
