What are some tips for connecting with spirits?
DEAR BONNIE » I would like to ask for some tips to use when trying to learn how to connect to spirits. I have been seeing and sensing spirits for a while now and I was wondering how I can deepen a connection with them. My cousin is a medium herself, but she said she couldn’t teach me other than saying to believe and to research spirits. I have been doing both of those things and there is no progress, please help.

DEAR MACKENZIE » It sounds like you have a connection to the spirit world already as you have been seeing and sensing those in the spirit world around you. All of us have the ability to connect with the spirit world as we all have these psychic abilities we are naturally born with. These abilities can become stronger with practice and patience. You mentioned your cousin was a medium, so I am sure your gifts are recognized and nurtured and not just dismissed. That is a good thing, as many times these gifts are said to be a part of a child’s imagination.
Meditation is the number one way to quiet the mind and start the journey of learning to feel and sense the presence of the spirit world around you. Meditation is where many people meet their guides, angels, loved ones and build their connection to God. Sensing spirits and believing in your ability to connect is key when trying to build a relationship with the spirit world and your own psychic senses. Try to meditate daily even if it’s just a short time each day.
Training and putting in the time to develop your gifts are essential to being successful. There is so much to learn, and a good start would be to learn about the Clair’s- these are your spiritual gifts of seeing- hearing-feeling and opening up your psychic senses so you are easily able to perceive and receive information from the spirit world and your team of helpers in the spirit world that is there for you and all of us.
We are all energy and learning about how the Clair’s work with our own energy centers found in our body called the chakra centers is a must. Knowing how our energy centers connect with our psychic senses will help you to understand the mechanics of mediumship.
There is so much to learn and know but the most important thing that you need to ask yourself is why you want to do this work?
Setting an Intension with the spirit world and having a clear vision of what you want to accomplish will help with your progress. I myself do this work to be of service to others. Before I start any connection, I say my prayers and set my intention for the best possible outcome and to be a blessing to others. Working with the angels has always helped me as well and I suggest you take some time to set your intentions as well.
