FITCHBURG >> The Department of Public Works advises residents of the following work that will be done, weather permitting, during theweek ofmarch25, 2024.

Road Constructi­on

Monday — Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Expect road closures, delays and detours.

MASSDOT will be continuing their reconstruc­tion and rehabilita­tion of the Circle Street Bridge. Due to constructi­on, the bridge will remain closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic until further notice.

Unitil and its subcontrac­tors Neuco, Path Mechanical and S-fors will be conducting natural gas pipeline replacemen­t projects in the areas of Ashburnham Street, Westminste­r Hill Road and Wallace Road.

Combinatio­n Sanitary Sewer/storm Drain Separation Project

Monday — Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Expect detours, lane shifts, road closures, and traffic delays.

No anticipate­d work scheduled for this week, however, J. A. Polito & Sons Inc. will be mobilizing equipment and materials to theirmain Street yard location (outside of right- ofway) during the week.

Minor traffic impacts

Monday — Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Pothole repairs Citywide.

Repair water gate boxes at various locations throughout the City.

Various repair of the existing drainage infrastruc­ture(s).

Stanley Tree will be working in the Lower Cleghorn area trimming for Unitil. Asplundh will be working in the Maverick Street area trimming for Unitil.

Due to ongoing constructi­on at Crocker Elementary School, heavier than normal traffic may be experience­d on Mechanic Street, Bigelow Drive and Whittemore Street. Over the next few weeks there will be steel deliveries, concrete trucks and dump trucks along with constructi­on personnel vehicles.

Hydrants

Hydrant maintenanc­e City-wide.

Water gate valve cleaning/exercising on River Street from Ashburnham Street to Main Street.

Street Sweeping

Street Sweeping ofward 2 will commence on April 1.
