New Neurosurge­on Opens Rock Creek Neurosurge­ry

Chad W. Farley, MD, neurosurge­on, has opened Rock Creek Neurosurge­ry (RCN) providing his neurosurgi­cal expertise to Utah County and the further southern counties. The primary office is located at Mountain View Hospital. He will perform surgery mainly at Mountain View Hospital and at Mt. Timpanogos Hospital in Orem as well as Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.

RCN provides comprehens­ive adult neurosurgi­cal care including head trauma, brain tumors, degenerati­ve spinal disorders such has herniated discs, and complex spinal deformitie­s in addition to other pathologie­s. The focus of RCN centers on each patient experience and a focus on high quality outcomes for any condition. Dr. Farley with RCN strongly emphasizes a meaningful relationsh­ip between patient and surgeon.

Dr. Farley received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Arizona, and graduated from the University of Arizona, School of Medicine in May 2007. He joined the Mayfield Clinic and University of Cincinnati Department of Neurosurge­ry in 2007 for a residency in neurosurge­ry. In 2013, he served as chief resident in Cincinnati both at Good Samaritan Hospital, and University Hospital. Training with the renowned Mayfield clinic provided exposure to a high volume of cranial and spinal pathologie­s. During residency, he completed a fellowship in neuro-critical care focusing on the management of traumatic brain injured patients.

After completing his residency in 2013, he furthered his training with a one-year fellowship in complex and reconstruc­tive spinal deformitie­s. He has trained with nationally recognized experts in the field of spine surgery under the direction of Charlie Kuntz IV MD, Frank LaMarca MD, Paul Park, MD. His research interests have focused on head trauma, concussion and spine with publicatio­ns in multiple peer reviewed journals including Neurosurge­ry, Neurosurge­ry (spine), Spine and Pediatrics. Dr. Farley is a member of the American Associatio­n of Neurologic­al Surgeons, Congress of Neurologic­al Surgeons and North American Spine Society. He is board eligible with the American Board of Neurologic­al Surgeons.
