Springville Sun­day Con­cert Se­ries

The Springville Sun­day Con­cert Se­ries on Oc­to­ber 19th at the Springville Mu­seum of Art will fea­ture Vanessa Vega. The per­for­mance starts at 4:30 and is free to the pub­lic.

Vanessa Vega is from Pasco, Wash­ing­ton, but cur­rently study­ing vo­cal per­for­mance and the­atre at West­min­ster Col­lege in Salt Lake City. Her long term goal is to be­come an opera singer. Study­ing voice for nine years pri­vately with ex­cep­tional teach­ers and spend­ing three sum­mers at the In­sti­tute for Young Dra­matic Voices un­der the di­rec­tion of in­ter­na­tional opera per­former Dolora Za­jick, Vanessa gained the con­fi­dence and con­nec­tions to be­lieve her dream is in­deed a pos­si­bil­ity. She has com­peted in Wash­ing­ton State and na­tional vo­cal com­pe­ti­tions and earned third place at the Mu­sic Teach­ers’ Na­tional As­so­ci­a­tion com­pe­ti­tion in Cal­i­for­nia, March 2013. She has also been the re­cip­i­ent of Spokane Mu­sicfest North­west’s Sr. Ma­ri­etta Coyle schol­ar­ship and their “Ad­ju­di­ca­tor’s Choice” award for 2013. In ad­di­tion, Vanessa re­ceived West­min­ster Merit, Ex­em­plary Achieve­ment, and Mu­sic Schol­ar­ships as well as the lo­cal Richard­son Mu­sic and Tyson Schol­ar­ships in her area. Vanessa at­tended Columbia Basin Col­lege full-time over the past two years and he has grad­u­ated with her AA de­gree and Phi Theta Kappa hon­ors. She loves to shar­ing her per­form­ing and shar­ing her gift.
