Dr. Everett Kele­polo is hon­ored by Na­tional Award

Dr. Everett Kele­polo, Nebo Dis­trict’s Ath­let­ics and Com­mu­nity School Co­or­di­na­tor, was hon­ored with the State Award of Merit by the Na­tional In­ter­scholas­tic Ath­letic Ad­min­is­tra­tors As­so­ci­a­tion 2015 (NIAAA).

As the Co­or­di­na­tor of Ath­let­ics in Nebo School Dis­trict, Dr. Kele­polo served five high schools and seven ju­nior highs. He Ini­ti­ated the cur­rent for­mat of ju­nior high ath­letic pro­grams in Nebo School Dis­trict. He co-cre­ated the Nebo School Dis­trict Cap­tain’s Academy which in­cludes cap­tains and lead­ers from all 12 sec­ondary schools in Nebo School Dis­trict. Dur­ing this academy speak­ers present on ways to im­ple­ment Lead­er­ship and Sports­man­ship in schools. Dr. Kele­polo im­ple­mented the Nebo School Dis­trict Ath­letic Hall of Fame as well as the Nebo School Dis­trict Ath­lete in Ex­cel­lence Award which rec­og­nizes stu­dent-ath­letes who demon­strate ex­cel­lence in Ath­let­ics, Aca­demics and Com­mu­nity

in im­ple­ment­ing a stipend pay­ment to Ath­letic Ad­min­is­tra­tors who have earned the CAA and CMAA des­ig­na­tion.

Dr. Kele­polo has served the state of Utah by pre­sent­ing at UIAAA con­fer­ences in­clud­ing “Deal­ing with dif­fi­cult par­ents” and “Deal­ing with Catas­tro­phes”. He has also taught sev­eral other cour­ses. Dr. Kele­polo served as UIAAA Ath­letic Di­rec­tor Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee mem­ber and UIAAA Awards Com­mit­tee mem­ber.

Some past hon­ors of Dr. Kele­polo in­clude the 1999 Sports­man­ship of the Year Award by the Wasatch font Football Of­fi­cial’s As­so­ci­a­tion, Most Re­spected Teacher Award by Span­ish Fork High’s stu­dent body, the To­tal Citizen of the Year Award by the Span­ish Fork Cham­ber of Com­merce, and Prin­ci­pal of the Year Award by the Utah As­so­ci­a­tion of Sec­ondary School Prin­ci­pals.

Dr. Kele­polo’s new as­sign­ment is Prin­ci­pal of Springville High School. He is mar­ried to Nikki; they have four chil­dren and re­side in Span­ish Fork.
