Fes­ti­val of Lights opens Nov. 24


Span­ish Fork City in­vites all to at­tend its 24th an­nual Fes­ti­val of Lights. This event fea­tures an im­pres­sive col­lec­tion of large light­ing dis­plays, some with mov­ing parts, set up in Canyon View Park. Those at­tend­ing can drive through and ad­mire the thou­sands of lights.

This year’s Fes­ti­val of Lights will be­gin on Nov. 24 and con­tinue through Jan. 1, 2017. The at­trac­tion will be open nightly from 6 to 10 p.m. at Canyon View Park, lo­cated at 3300 E. Pow­er­house Road in Span­ish Fork (next to the Span­ish Oaks Golf Course). Cost is $7 per car or $20 per large pas­sen­ger van or any ve­hi­cle tow­ing a trailer ($20 per trailer). A bus is $30. Pay­ment is ac­cepted with cash or check (no credit cards).

Gift cer­tifi­cates are avail­able at the Span­ish Fork City Of­fices, 40 S. Main, or at the Parks and Re­cre­ation Of­fice, 775 N. Main, for $7. Those at­tend­ing can lis­ten to hol­i­day mu­sic on 99.9 FM while they drive through the dis­plays.

The dis­plays at the fes­ti­val in­clude the Candy Cane Fac­tory (35 feet long by 12 feet tall), the Fig­ure Skaters (33 feet long by 9 feet tall), the Sea Ser­pent (perched on the lake and mea­sur­ing 48 feet wide by 12 feet high), a col­lec­tion of di­nosaurs in­clud­ing a T-Rex and Bron­tosaurus, the Horse-Drawn Sleigh (34 feet long by 15 feet high) and the Toy­land Cas­tle (33 feet wide by 30 feet high).
