Shelby swims past Crestview, Hillsdale
Shelby’s varsity boys and girls swim and dive teams were both triumphant Monday against Crestview and Hillsdale in the Shelby YMCA Natatorium.
The Lady Whippets defeated Crestview 122-5 while the the SHS boys totaled 89 in upending the Cougars (27) and Falcons (7).
Paxton Gibson won two individual events for Shelby as he swept the 50 freestyle (27.87) and 100 freestyle (1:07.59).
Jadyn Mcpherson and Reyna Hoffman doubled up for the Whippet girls. Mcpherson captured the 200 freestyle (2:34.48) and the 400 freestyle (5:23.61). Hoffman prevailed in the 200 individual medley (2:42.30) and the 100 freestyle (1:10.69).
Also placing first for the SHS swim teams were Kassie Stine in the 50 freestyle (28.70), Marleigh Albert in 1-meter diving (165.50), Elli Mayer in the 100 backstroke (1:25.88), Riley Lewis in the 100 breaststroke (1:34.62), Ty Cox in the 200 individual medley (3:02.06) and Wyatt Mckenzie in the 100 breaststroke (1:21.08).

Long won the 200 medley relay (2:33.22).
Clark, Zoe Mcnary, Hoffman and Stine captured the 200 freestyle relay (2:07.78). Lewis, Mayer, Hoffman and Stine swept to 400 freestyle relay (4:35.79).
Shelby’s Hayden Faith, Kael Moore, Blake Muntis and Gibson were victorious in the 200 medley relay (2:15.43). Faith, Mongold, Cox and Muntis took the 200 freestyle relay (2:04.48). Josh Mohr, Moore, Mckenzie and Gibson closed the meet out with a win in the 400 freestyle relay (4:38.77).
