SHS boys net pair of victories

BELLVILLE — Shelby’s varsity boys track and field team won a three-way affair Tuesday evening at Clear Fork.

The Whippets totaled 78 points. The host Colts were second with 49 and the Freddies brought up the rear with 48.

Winning for the SHS boys were:

— Josh Mohr, Mason Hendrickso­n, Nathan Ganzhorn and Luke Dininger in the 4 x 800meter relay (9:07.0).

— Carson Ingram in the 100-meter dash (11.5). — Xander Wilkins in the shot put (43-5). — Noah Rank in the high jump (5-6) and the 300-meter intermedia­te hurdles (45.6).

— Ingram, Brazure Roberts, Connor Henkel and Andre Hill in the 4 x 100-meter relay (45.4).

— Huck Finnegan in the 1,600-meter run (4:50.0) and the 3,200-meter run (10:05.0). — Henkel in the long jump (21-0 3/4).

— Riley Fackler in the 800-meter run (2:16.0). Runner-up efforts for Shelby were from Rank in the 110 hurdles (18.8), Camden Walters in the shot put (43-2 1/2), Ingram in the high jump (5-4) and Hendrickso­n in the 800 (2:17.0).

Placing third for the red and gray were Hill in the 100 (11.9), Fackler in the 1,600 (4:57.0), Walters in the discus (109-9) and Mohr in the 3,200 (10:36).

Winding up fourth for the Whippets were Tyler Bowman in the 110 hurdles (20.7), Max Hess in the high jump (5-0), Trae Smith in the long jump (17-8 1/2) and 200 dash (26.9), Roberts on the 400 (56.9), Anderson Roll in the 300 hurdles (49.9), Luke Lesseuer in the 800 (2:23.0) and Brinson Delauder in the pole vault (8-6).

Shelby runs Friday at the Perkins Invitation­al.
