Spring clean up and reports brought forward at Sharon Township

SHARON Twpspring clean up was brought forward along with various reports from Shsaron Township Trustees during the regular meeting held on March 15.

In the approved minutes, it was stated legislatio­n passed to pay 4-H club and Shelby FFA for Sharon Township roads spring clean up the same as last year. The minutes stated Fiscal Officer Kimberly Stover would set up the purchase orders, Trustee Devin Cain would reach out to the 4-H club to coordinate and Trustee Jason Snyder would contact the Shelby FFA to communicat­e. The motion passed unanimousl­y.

In trustees’ reports, Snyder said a snow plow shoe was ordered for the Western Star in Galion. Snyder also got the Internatio­nal dumped and cleaned up and Snyder answered and replied to resumes emailed to him for the open position.

Trustee James Metzger shared he had received a call from Tom Clabaugh to verify insurance details for the school house, according to the minutes. Metzger requested informatio­n and was supplied it by the fiscal officer about the current policy. Metzger said he would supply Clabuagh’s contact informatio­n to the fiscal officer.

In Cain’s report, he suggested that the board set a date for the cleanup before the first mowing and May 2 was decided on. Cain said he would reach out to the 4-H club to discuss and Snyder would contact Shelby FFA.

Also in the approved minutes, Cain said citizen Brian Finnegan called about a breather in the tile on Finnegan Road. In addition, Cain said citizen Bob Biglin called to see about getting his sod repaired from snow plow damage.

Moving forward, Cain suggested that the board look at and discuss resumes at the next meeting in the executive session to proceed with the hiring process.-mmm
