SOFTBALL Benham & Ream topples Barkdull

Benham & Ream Attorneys was victorious during coach pitch competitio­n in the Shelby Girls Softball League with an 11-8 verdict over Barkdull Funeral Home Tuesday at the Dowds School complex. No other details about the game were submitted. In other girls softball contests:

Major Division Accurate Auto 13, D.R. Roofing 0

Emma Mahek fired a two-hit shutout as Accurate Auto overpowere­d D.R. Roofing 13-0.

Mahek finished the outing with 12 strikeouts and one walk. She also helped her own cause with three hits.

Chloe Mahek belted a home run and two singles for Accurate Auto. Salem Keller chipped in with a home run and a double. Smashing singles were Cheyenne Corbitt, Karlie Seibert, Addison Kilgore and Paytan Byrd.

For D.R. Roofing, Ella Keller tripled and Macie Keller doubled.

Makenna Moyer surrendere­d nine runs on 12 hits in the loss while striking out five and walking three. She was relieved by Macie Keller and Ella Keller.

Major Division Gwirtz Foods 16, Healing Hands 4

Gwirtz Foods posted a 16-4 triumph against Healing Hands.

Kerryn Seibert and Kensley Burrer each had two hits for Gwirtz Foods. Jordyn Thauvette, Liberty Lewis, Makayla Bowman, Raegan Mccoy and Megan Adkins all had a single in the win.

Peyton Bruskotter topped Healing Hands with two hits. Karsyn Adkins, Karlie Fuller and Brylee Carver all had a basehit.

Burrer was the winning pitcher and tallied six strikeouts and three walks. Haylee Kaufmann took the loss and over three innings she allowed eight runs on six hits with two strikeouts and five walks. Kylee Brooks finished up with two innings and surrendere­d eight runs on three hits with one strikeout and four walks.
