SOFTBALL Shelby Alliance Church collects pair of wins

muscled past HRC by a 12-3 score during minor division girls softball at the Dowds School complex.

Matalyn Byrd belted four hits to spark Shelby Alliance Church. Emily Jamison contribute­d a double and a single while Kendall Eikleberry had two hits. Ciarra Nolan, Ava Collins and Lucy Enyeart all had a basehit.

Kaylee Dabney rapped a pair of hits for HRC and Makenzie Couch added a single.

Jamison was the winning pitcher with seven strikeouts and seven walks. Eikleberry pitched in relief and tallied five strikeouts and three walks. Couch struck out eight and walked seven in the loss and was relieved by Sophia Carver with two strikeouts and two walks.*

Collecting a hit each for the Shelby Firefighte­rs were Grace Hendrickso­n and Adryanna Davis.

Jamison was the winning pitcher with nine strikeouts and three walks. Eikleberry struck out three in relief. Hendrickso­n recorded 13 strikeouts and 14 walks in the loss.
