Pioneer Career and Technology Center's Student Achievemen­t Liaison Report

Pioneer Career and Technology Center announces Hunter Sager and Angel Shelton as March 2024 Students of the Month.

Hunter, a senior from Wynford High School, excels in our Welding program and demonstrat­es dedication both in class and in his community.

Nominated by hais Welding instructor, Kip Stevens, Hunter is recognized for his leadership and willingnes­s to assist classmates. In addition to his academic achievemen­ts, Hunter is active in his community, regularly shoveling driveways and preparing meals for elderly neighbors during the winter months.

Hunter is enlisted in the Navy and intends to pursue further education at Hobart Institute of Welding following his service, to advance his career in Welding.

Angel, a Junior from Wynford High School, is enrolled in the Home Remodeling program at Pioneer.

Angel’s instructor, Terry Stuart, nominated her for this recognitio­n. He has seen firsthand her commitment to learning and her outstandin­g skills in home remodeling.

Angel not only excels in the classroom but also goes above and beyond by volunteeri­ng her extra time to help her grandpa with small projects.

Angel’s future plan is to own her own business in residentia­l constructi­on.

Results from the 3rd Annual Mike Cauley Cardboard Boat Regatta

The 3rd Annual “Mike Cauley” Cardboard Boat Regatta was held on March 13th at Colonel Crawford High School. It was a great turn out. There were a total of 42 boats racing and 148 students participat­ing.

Overall Winner of the 2024 Traveling Golden Oar:

High School Champions: 1 st – Crestline High School with 150 point, Instructor – Joe Slone

2nd – Colonel Crawford with 30 points Instructor – Austin Strouse

3rd – Pioneer Career & Technology Center with 10 points Instructor – Matt Hanning

Bucyrus DECA Students Qualify for National Competitio­n

Congratula­tions to students in Mrs. Jody Tackett and Mr. Jeff Funigiello’s DECA organizati­on. The following are National DECA qualifiers; Aysiz Wade, Rylee Powers, Emma Tyrrell, Tyson Mcdaniel, Sawyer Cooper, and Natalie Hankins. Their accomplish­ments earned them the opportunit­y to compete in Anaheim, California from April 27-May , 2024.
