The start of school is just around the corner, and one sure herald of the upcoming semester is the lacing up of cleats, the clicking of helmet straps and the smells of hot dogs at Panther Stadium.

A 7-on-7 football tournament was held this past weekend for area youth teams to prepare for the upcoming season. Teams played in either the sixthgrade division or the fourth- and fifth-grade division.

Springdale won the sixth-grade tournament, while Shiloh Christian’s fifth-graders won the fourth- and fifth-grade tournament.

All proceeds were donated to the Siloam Springs Booster Club. Last year, the event raised about $4,000. The event raised $2,600 this year with a smaller field of teams.
