Street closing

The city of Siloam Springs will have a street closing on Maxwell Street near East Twin Springs, beginning Monday and will be back up for use Wednesday, Aug. 3. The detour will lead down Twin Springs to Washington Street.

Concert

Spring Hollow Bluegrass will be in concert on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Gum Springs Baptist Church, located at 20054 Keck Road in Siloam Springs. For more information, contact Charla Myers at 479-549-7204.

Dogwood Quilters Guild

The Dogwood Quilters Guild of Siloam Springs will host Barb Hamernik at the Aug. 6 meeting. She will teach a workshop on an original bear paw quilt block sampler.

Writers to meet Aug. 4

The Siloam Springs Writers Guild will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at First Baptist Church of Siloam Springs, located at 2000 Dawn Hill Road. Rachel Kulp will be presenting an interactive book report on writing for fun. Assignments for August are: Poetry — a lyric poem; and Prose — “A funny thing happened on the way to …” Refreshments will be served. August entries should be submitted between Aug. 1-5. All interested writers are invited to participate.
