Rogers wins tennis matches

ROGERS — The Siloam Springs boys and girls tennis teams opened their 2016 season on Tuesday with matches against Rogers High.

In boys action, the Panthers and Mounties’ varsities and junior varsities played 18 matches, with Rogers winning 16 of them.

In girls action, the Lady Panthers and Lady Mounties played a total of 13 matches with Rogers winning nine.

The match was originally supposed to be played on Monday but was moved to Tuesday because of rain in Rogers.

Siloam Springs was scheduled to host Farmington on Thursday in its first home match of the season, but that event was rained out. A make-up date has not yet been set.

The Panthers and Lady Panthers are scheduled to return to action Tuesday in a 6A-West Conference match at Russellville.
