Junior high volleyball teams win

The Siloam Springs ninth-grade volleyball team picked up a win Monday night against Springdale George in the Panther Den at Siloam Springs High School. The freshmen Lady Panthers swept the Lady Wranglers 2-0 (26-24, 25-22). Abby Herring led Siloam Springs (2-11-1) with six kills, while Jael Harried had five kills and Shelby Johnson two blocks. The eighth-graders also swept George 2-0 (25-15, 26-24). Faith Howie led the Lady Panthers (411-1) with 14 aces. Both the eighth- and ninth-grade teams returned to action Tuesday at Springdale Central. Results were not available at presstime. Both teams will host Springdale Southwest on Monday.

Seventh-grade

The seventh-grade volleyball team picked up a 2-1 win Monday against Springdale Sonora. Siloam Springs (3-4) won the first set 25-16, but dropped the second set 25-20. The Lady Panthers rebounded to win the third set 15-7. Chloe Chandler led the Lady Panthers with nine aces, while Sophia Lange had five aces and one kill. Emily Morris had two kills, while Sidney Pfieffer had two aces. Grace Arrington and Carley Carswell each had a kill and an ace. The seventh-graders were back in action on Tuesday at Springdale Hellstern. Results were not available at presstime. The Lady Panthers will play Monday at home against Springdale Tyson.
