Seventh-graders play well against Hellstern

SPRINGDALE — The Siloam Springs seventh-grade volleyball team played a pair of matches Wednesday against Springdale Hellstern. The Maroon team won 25-19, 25-20, while the Gray team split 23-25, 25-16, and finished with more points than Hellstern. Grace Arrington and Chloe Chandler each led Maroon with three aces and two kills apiece. Sidney Pfieffer, Carley Carswell and Mazzi Jones each had two aces, while Pfieffer also had a kill. Alexis Slaton had two kills, Caleigh Beyer one kill and Sophia Lange one kill and one ace. Makaylee Reichneker led Gray with five kills and three aces, while Haliee Free had five aces and three kills. Rachel Davis added two kills and four aces, and Kami Hulbert had four aces. Jensen Kelly and Molly Self each had four aces, while Dorothy Swearingen had three aces and one kill. The seventh-graders are scheduled to host Springdale Tyson on Monday.

Eighth-ninth-grade

SPRINGDALE — The eighth- and ninth-grade teams were both swept on Wednesday at Springdale Central. The freshmen lost 25-9, 25-15. Jael Harried had two kills for the Lady Panthers (2-12-1), while Rachel Conrad had two blocks. The eighth-graders lost 25-21, 25-16 in their match with Central. Micah Curry led the Lady Panthers (4-12-1) with three kills, while Camryn Kendrick had three aces. The eighth- and ninth-grade teams are scheduled to host Springdale Southwest on Monday.
