Engineers victorious again, 5-0 to start year

WATTS, Okla. — The Watts (Okla.) Engineers improved to 5-0 for the first time since 1983 with a 52-24 win against Prue on Friday.

The Engineers led 14-0 after the first quarter and 30-18 at halftime. They outscored Prue 24-6 in the second half.

Quarterbac­k Clayton Mitchell rushed for 82 yards and threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns.

Danny Fernandez rushed for two touchdowns and also threw a touchdown pass.

Blayne Harlin rushed for two touchdowns and caught three passes for 59 yards and two touchdowns.

Joe Phifer had three catches for 45 yards and two touchdown receptions.

Jason Estep had nine tackles and three sacks, while Phifer had eight tackles, and Adarain Adams and Zack Johnson each with seven tackles.

Watts looks to go 6-0 on Friday at Arkoma.

Oaks 42, Gans 26

OAKS, Okla. — Oaks improved to 4-1 with a win against Gans on Friday at Tucker Field.

Jess Robbins completed 14 of 22 passes for 168 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 97 yards and one score.

Cyrus James rushed for 30 yards and caught six passes for 74 yards and a score. Trey Fields had six receptions for 74 yards and a score. Shae Beaver also had a touchdown catch.

Fields led defensivel­y with 12 tackles, while Nakoma Romannose had nine, T.J. Cummings eight and Robbins and James each with seven.

Oaks hosts Depew on Friday.

Colcord 32, Chouteau 24

COLCORD, Okla. — Colcord snapped a threegame losing streak with a victory over Chouteau on Friday.

Colcord hosts Victory Christian on Friday.

Salina 36, Kansas 19

SALINA, Okla. — Kansas remained winless on the season after a 36-19 loss at Salina. The Comets (0-5) host Ketchum for homecoming on Friday.
