Love’s opens truck stop in West Siloam Springs
Love’s adds 40 jobs to Delaware County
A new Love’s Travel Stops opened in West Siloam Springs, Okla., on Thursday morning, bringing 40 new jobs to Delaware County.
The new 5,000-square-foot travel stop is open 24-hours a day and includes two restaurants — Godfather’s Pizza and Chester’s Chicken — a place to purchase gasoline and diesel, showers for professional truck drivers, 41 truck parking spaces and a Love’s Truck Tire Care Center, according to a press release from the company. The items offered for sale in the new stop will include gourmet coffee, fresh fruit, gift merchandise and electronics.
“I think it is wonderful news for the town of West Siloam Springs,” said Mayor Elaine Carr.
Carr said that Love’s will bring additional tax revenue to the town, and is hopeful the truck stop will encourage more businesses to open locations in West Siloam Springs.
Carr said she expects West Siloam Springs to see more growth in the next five years. Carr noted that West Siloam Springs, located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and U.S. Highway 412, is a major corridor for travelers, whether they are headed from Tulsa to Fayetteville, or traveling on Oklahoma’s Scenic Highways and Biways.
West Siloam Springs has put zoning in place and formed a zoning board in anticipation of growth coming to the city, Carr said. She said the town is working with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation to have a stoplight installed in front of the new truck stop.
The Love’s in West Siloam Springs is the fifth travel stop the company has opened in Oklahoma this year, the release stated. The company, which is headquartered in Oklahoma City, Okla., has more than 390 locations in 40 states.
Love’s will celebrate the opening of the new location with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, and a donation of $2,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Western Benton County.
