Nov. 30
Kentucky Fried Chicken, 1115 Highway 412 West Priority violations:
• Employee did not lather with soap long enough before rinsing off the soap. Lather for at least 10 seconds before rinsing off soap. Corrected. •
Employee did not wash hands before putting on gloves between task change. Corrected.
• Different batches of coleslaw, pot pie mix, coleslaw dressing in the walk-in are all at 43°F. Walk-in thermometer is reading 39°F. Contact the Department of Health when the situation is corrected. Non priority violations:
• Condensation leak in the walkin cooler.
• Condensation leak in walk-in freezer. Do not store any open boxes or food items under leaking area. Repair within 30 days.
• Ice build-up on freezer door. Gasket is still on order from the last inspection conducted on 1/13/16.
• Heat strip on walk-in freezer door is not working, allowing the ice to build up so door does not shut properly. This is an ongoing violation and must be corrected properly.
• Tiles in walk-in cooler are chipped. Repair and replace (if possible) to prevent the accumulation of ice build-up on the floor between walk-in and freezer.
• Faucet in the ladies room does not shut off even when it is in the “off” position. Replace faucet.

No food preparation at the time of inspection. No meat in meat department at the time of inspection.
Cafe on Broadway & Books, 121 North Broadway Street Non priority violations:
• Wall by table where clean dishes are stored is not smooth or in good condition. Cover wall or move clean dishes somewhere else.
• Test strips may not be accurate and a little old. Replace.
• Clean area around walls/dish room.
Cafe on Broadway, 123 North Broadway Street Priority violations:
• Cool eggs (or any hot food) from 135°F to 70°F or below in two hours or less. From 70°F to 41°F or below in four hours or less. Eggs still 51°F at the end of inspection. Corrected. Non priority violations:
• No thermometer in the milk cooler (front). No thermometer in the salad refrigerator (baker).
• Effective hair restraints are required for food employees.
• Counter where sink is located is not in good condition - wood is exposed and back of cabinet (side) is absorbent.
• Counter where grinders are is no longer in good condition - finish wearing off.
• Floor under prep #1 is peeling and no longer easily cleanable.
• Floor at three-compartment sink/dishwasher area is peeling.
• Ceiling tiles are not smooth or easily cleanable.

Taqueria El Rancho, 715 East Jefferson Street Priority violations:
• Wire racks used for raw meat must be cleaned and sanitized between uses. These items were in the walk-in freezer dirty.
• Not all items date marked as needed. Food that is cooked or prepared that is potentially hazardous and not used in 24 hours must be date marked. Examples would be cooked beans, queso, cooked beef or chicken.
• Reusing single-use containers for food storage.
• Wire racks used for raw meat are no longer in good condition. The coating is coming off and metal is starting to get rusty. Replace or re-coat with approved coating material for food contact.
• Wood under the grill is not finished and cannot be cleaned properly. Wood is absorbing grease/oil.
• Permit posted but expired 8/30/17. Kung Fu Eggroll, 24658 Lamphear Road (Mobile Food Unit) Priority violations:
• Maintain hot food at 135°F or above (unit broken). Alternatively time as a control can be used until purchased.
• Tablets of bleach may not be approved for food contact surfaces. Contact company for EPA approval or use a liquid that is approved (or approved tablets).

Sunshine Montessori Infant-Toddler, 2124 West University Street Priority violations:
• Employee was going to cut fruit with bare hands. No bare hand contact with ready-to-eat food is allowed. Corrected. Non priority violations:
• No obvious distinct separation between employee food and daycare food. Suggest putting a label on the employee shelf(s) for employee personal food.
