James “Jim” C. Strassheim

Jim C. Strassheim, 83-year-old resident of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, died December 13, 2016, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayettevil­le, Arkansas. Born September 2, 1933, in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the son of Chester Strassheim and Catherine DeGele Strassheim. Jim graduated from Siloam Springs High School and attended John Brown University for two years. He married Tommye Garrett on March 18, 1954, in Siloam Springs. Jim was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving from 1954 until 1956. He worked in sales for JetStream for many years. Jim was a member of the Siloam Springs School Board, the Siloam Springs City Council, the Jaycees, and was a past president of the Siloam Springs Kiwanis. Jim also served as past Executive Secretary for the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Shirley Canova and Joyce Godfrey.

He is survived by his wife, Tommye; two daughters, Valerie Jones and husband Duane of Siloam Springs, and Julie Londagin and husband Mark of Grove, Oklahoma; three grandsons, Garrett Jones of Siloam Springs, Adam Jones of Nashville, Tennessee, Spencer Londagin of Grove; a special brother, Dennis Canova and wife Larrita of Springdale, Arkansas; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services wre 1 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016, at First Baptist Church, Siloam Springs, with Pastor Dennis Cottrell and Mr. Stewart Pickle officiatin­g. Burial was private.
