The city of Siloam Springs announced Friday that Phillip Stokes joined the city’s staff as the Electric Department Director on Feb 1, 2017.

Stokes’ most recent employment was as a Customer Support Services Superintendent with Grand River Dam Authority, the establishment that provides electricity to the City of Siloam Springs.

“We were looking for someone with a mix of management and high level electrical experience,” said City Administrator Phillip Patterson. “As you can imagine, that can be a challenge. I’m confident that Phillip Stokes will be an excellent addition to city staff.”

While Stokes got his start in operations in the relay department of the coal fire plant in Pryor, Okla., his past twenty years have been dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction, improving customer relations and improving service. He brings deep management knowledge and an ability to work with people, balance tasks, troubleshooting and customer service, according to a city press release.

“The city of Siloam Springs Electric Department is highly respected for its reliability and I’m excited to be a part of the organization,” said Stokes. “This is a wonderful opportunity with great people who I look forward to working with. I’m pleased to get started.”

In his free time, Stokes enjoys teaching adult Sunday School classes, playing golf, racquetball, fishing and umpiring baseball and softball.
