Main Street recruiting more market vendors
Main Street Siloam Springs launched a campaign to recruit new Homegrown Festival vendors on Wednesday.
The organization is also accepting applications for new farmers market vendors, according to executive director Kelsey Howard. Applications can be found on the Main Street Siloam Springs website, www.mainstreetsiloamsprings/homegrownfestival.
The Homegrown Festival, scheduled for Oct. 7, simultaneously showcases local artisans and makers, and downtown businesses, Howard said. The festival aims to capture the atmosphere of downtown Siloam Springs with local entertainment, exciting food and quality products. Main Street Siloam Springs is inviting last year’s vendors back and intentionally seeking out new regional vendors, she said.
Last year the festival had more than 70 vendors, including nonprofits, food trucks and farmers market vendors. While Main Street Siloam Springs is happy with the number who participated last year, they want to get the word out, she said.
The festival focuses on vendors who sell original, one-of-a-kind and limited-run items, including illustration, printmaking, music, jewelry and accessories, handmade goods, salvaged and repurposed goods, and hand-picked vintage. Both full-time artisans and hobbyists are welcome to apply, she said.
Returning vendors may submit their applications through March 30 and new vendors may submit
