Boys soccer wins in PKs

OWASSO, Okla. — The Siloam Springs boys soccer team outscored Owasso, Okla., 5-4 in penalty kicks to take a 2-1 win on Friday night as the Panthers completed their first week of the season. Francisco Sifuentes scored in regulation for Siloam Springs (2-1), while Alex Telles, Aric Lee, Luke Gumm, Austin Shull and Victor Godinez all converted on their penality kicks. Goalkeeper Wyatt Church made two saves in the penalty kicks period.

Springdale High 3, Siloam Springs 1

Springdale scored a pair of goals in the second half to break a 1-1 tie and win its official season opener Thursday at Siloam Springs. The Bulldogs got goals from Jesus Barroso, Luis Garcia and Salvador Gonzalez in the win. Christian Marroquin scored the lone goal for Siloam Springs.

Siloam Springs 2, Van Buren 1

VAN BUREN — The Panthers scored an own goal in the 15th minute off a Jose Serrano cross to take a 1-0 lead. After Van Buren tied it in the 35th minute, Siloam Springs scored the go-ahead goal in the 67th minute when Kormah Dorko found Christian Marroquin for the score.

OWASSO, Okla. — The Lady Panthers suffered their first loss of the season with a 3-0 loss at Owasso, Okla., on Friday night. Siloam Springs dropped to 2-1 overall with the loss.

Siloam Springs 3, Springdale High 1

Megan Hutto, Brooklyn Buckminste­r and Audrey Maxwell each netted goals for Siloam Springs on Thursday in the Lady Panthers’ home opener. Hadley Crenshaw and Hutto each had assists for the Lady Panthers.

Siloam Springs 9, Van Buren 0

VAN BUREN — Audrey Maxwell scored four goals as the Lady Panthers opened their season with a mercyrule win against Van Buren. The Lady Panthers led 7-0 at halftime and added two more scores in a time-shortened second half. Megan Hutto, Meghan Kennedy, Laura Morales, Megan Rodgers and Anna Claire Lewis all had single goals for Siloam Springs.
