Athletes compete at eight-grade conference meet

The Siloam Springs track program hosted the Northwest Arkansas Conference Eighth-Grade Meet on Monday at Glenn W. Black Stadium.

Siloam Springs ran its seventh-graders and some eighth-graders in Monday’s meet. The top eighth-graders and ninthgrade­rs participat­ed in the NWA Conference Ninth-Grade Meet on Tuesday at Glenn W. Black Stadium. Results were not available at presstime.

Girls

Fayettevil­le Woodland won the meet with 148.5 points, while Rogers Kirskey was second at 136.16, followed by Bentonvill­e Fulbright 114, Bentonvill­e Washington 88, Fayettevil­le Ramay 56.16, Rogers Elmwood 19.66, Rogers Lingle 18.16, Springdale Central 14, Rogers Oakdale 10.16, Bentonvill­e Lincoln 8.16, Springdale Southwest 6, Springdale George 3 and Siloam Springs 2.

In the high jump, Bethany Markovich and Hannah Riley tied for 17th place with a jump of four feet.

Abby Gross placed 18th in the long jump at 13-5.

Gross also placed eighth in the triple jump at 28-4 and scored one point, while Markovich was ninth at 28-0 and Sofia Lange 11th at 27-7.

Serenity Locke placed 20th in the shot put at 25-3.5, while Macy Harper placed 26th at 24-8.

Chloe Chandler placed ninth in the discus at 678, while Locke was 13th at 60-8 and Harper 28th at 51-8.

The Lady Panthers’ 4x800-meter relay team of Emma Bryant, Abby Haak, Rebecca Largent and Adrianna Rodriguez placed 10th at 12 minutes, 24.02 seconds.

Emma Norberg placed 18th in the 100-meter hurdles at 19.70, while Sidney Pfeiffer was 20th at 20.30 and Gross 29th at 21.08.

Markovich placed 14th in the 100-meter dash at 14.37, with Riley in 23rd at 14.89.

Shayla Conley placed 20th in the 1,600-meter run at 6:44.34, while Laurel Granderson was 27th at 7:15.36.

The Lady Panthers’ 4x100-meter relay team of Chandler, Gross, Markovich and Riley placed eighth and scored one point at 58.36.

Largent placed 26th in the 400-meter dash at 1:13.21, while Rodriguez was 30th at 1:13.78 and Hailee Free 39th at 1:17.74.

Norberg placed 14th in the 300-meter hurdles at 59.47, while Kami Hulbert was 17th at 59.88 and Gross 29th at 1:06.05.

Haak placed 34th in the 800-meter run at 3:04.29.

Riley finished 19th in the 200-meter dash at 30.83, with Chandler coming in 33rd at 32.55 and Gross 48th at 35.10.

Boys

Bentonvill­e Fulbright won the boys meet with 141.5 points, followed by Fayettevil­le Woodland 80.5, Rogers Kirksey 70, Fayettevil­le Ramay 60, Bentonvill­e Washington 52.5, Springdale Central 51.5, Springdale Lakeside 41, Bentonvill­e Lincoln 30, Rogers Oakdale 29, Springdale Southwest 26, Rogers Lingle 21, Rogers Elmwood 21.

Christian Ledeker and Broc Hilburn tied for 15th in the high jump at 4-8.

Hilburn placed 24th in the long jump at 15-6.5.

Ledeker placed 21st in the triple jump at 33-4, while David Gowin was 36th at 30-8 and Ryan Lane 43rd at 28-7.

Jace Sutulovich finished 18th in the shot put at 34-7.5, with Justus Locke placing 26th at 32-0 and Tucker Allen 33rd at 29-7.

Sutulovich placed ninth in the discus at 1128, while Truman Janes placed 13th at 101-10 and Locke 26th at 90-3.

Ledeker placed 24th in the 110-meter hurdles at 20.83, while Josh Stewart was 31st at 21.86, Montana Herrel 32nd at 22.08 and Matthew Reynolds 37th at 22.49.

Esai Flores finished 32nd in the 100-meter dash at 13.42, while Simon Jones was 36th at 13.76 and Hilburn 41st at 14.04.

Beau Brantley placed 44th in the 1,600-meter run at 6:35.24, while Malachi Becan placed 47th at 6:54.02.

The Panthers’ 4x100meter relay team of Flores, Hilburn, Jones and Ledeker placed 14th at 53.10.

Ledeker placed 31st in the 300-meter hurdles at 53.48, while Javier Chavez placed 32nd at 53.54, Zach Jones 40th at 59.19 and Tate Broquard 41st at 59.87.

Aron Gomez placed 29th in the 800-meter run at 2:35.86, while Brantley was 43rd at 2:53.55, Jacob Smith 44th at 2:59.00 and Ryan Lane 45th at 2:59.07.

Flores took 25th in the 200-meter dash at 27.19, while Simon Jones was 35th at 28.94 and Hilburn 40th at 29.78.

The top finishers from Tuesday’s ninth-grade meet advance to the Northwest Arkansas/River Valley Regional Meet scheduled for Monday at Springdale Har-Ber.
