Memorial Day Flags

The American Legion will be placing flags on the graves of U.S. Military Veterans at 8 a.m. May 20, in remembranc­e of their military service on Memorial Day. Those who have a family member or friend who is buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, and is not identified as a U.S. Veteran, may contact with the American Legion and let them know, so they can make sure a flag is placed on their headstone. The community is welcome to join the American Legion in placing the flags. USPS Food Drive

The Siloam Springs Post Office will collecting nonperisha­ble food as part of the 25th annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive May 8-13. Those who would like to participat­e may put nonperisha­ble food in their mailboxes during the week or drop them by the Post Office. The food will be donated to Siloam Springs’ five food banks. Preschool enrollment

Northside Elementary is currently taking applicatio­ns for preschool students for the 2017-2018 school year. All applicatio­ns will be submitted online and can be accessed by going to the Northside homepage. http://northside.siloamscho­ols.com/

Children must be 4 years old on or before Aug. 1, 2017 to apply for preschool. Space is limited and will be filled on a first come, first qualified basis. All qualified children who are four years old by this date will be notified by mail. For more informatio­n call 479-5244126.

SSRH Blood Drive

Siloam Springs Regional Hospital will host a blood drive from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 16 in the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks Bloodmobil­e at the SSRH parking lot located at 603 N. Progress Ave. in Siloam Springs.

To be eligible to give blood, one must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health and present a valid photo ID. CBCO offers the following tips for those who plan to make a donation:

• Drink plenty of water or juice the night and morning before one donates.

• Eat a well-balanced meal around 2-3 hours before giving.

• Bring a photo ID which is required for all donors.
