SSHS track teams finish seventh at conference meet

GREENWOOD — The Siloam Springs senior high track and field teams participat­ed in the 6A-West Conference Track Meet held Friday at Smith-Robinson Stadium in Greenwood.

Both the Panthers and Lady Panthers finished in seventh place out of eight schools participat­ing in the event.

The top six finishers in each event qualify for the Class 6A State Meet, which is scheduled for Thursday at Lake Hamilton.

Girls

Russellvil­le scored 142 points to finish first in the girls meet, followed by Texarkana with 132, Lake Hamilton 102, Sheridan 75, Benton 63, El Dorado 61, Siloam Springs 52 and Greenwood 35.

Chloe McGooden was the Lady Panthers’ only first-place finish of the day as she won the 6A-West Conference championsh­ip in the 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 31.76 seconds and scored 10 points. Emma Hulbert and Candy Dubon also qualified for the state meet in the 800-meter run. Hulbert finished fourth in the event with a time of 2:33.09 and scored five points, while Dubon was sixth at 2:35.94 and scored three points.

Alexis Roach qualified for the state meet in the triple jump with a mark of 33 feet, 3.25 inches, scoring four points with a fifth-place finish. Brooke Henderson was 12th in the triple jump at 31-0.75.

Allika Pearson and Jasmine Guillen each qualified in the 1,600-meter run. Pearson placed third and scored six points with a time of 5:43.44, while Guillen was sixth at 5:51.93 and scored three points.

Guillen placed third in the 3,200-meter run and qualified for state with a time of 12:35.19 and scored six points. Pearson just missed a qualifying time in the 3,200, finishing seventh at 13:30.20 and scoring two points.

The Lady Panthers’ 4x100-meter relay team of Sidney Henry, Hadlee Hollenback, Roach and Chloe Price finished fifth and qualified with a time of 52.71 and scored four points.

Siloam Springs’ 4x400meter relay team of McGooden, Caroline Farine, Hollenback and Price finished sixth and qualified with a time of 4:22.36 and scored three points.

Price qualified for the state meet in the 400-meter dash at 1:01.86, finishing fourth and scoring five points.

Roach placed eighth in the long jump at 16-2.75 and scored one point, while Brooke Henderson was 19th at 14-4.25 and Sidney Henry 26th at 12-0.25.

Price finished 16th in the high jump with a mark of 4-6.

Jael Harried placed 15th in the 100-meter hurdles at 19.36, while Emily McClelland was 19th at 21.75.

Harried placed 16th in the 300-meter hurdles at 57.96, while McClelland was 21st at 1:03.42.

Hadlee Hollenback placed 13th in the 100-meter dash at 13.41, while Henry was 16th at 13.64 and Henderson 21st at 14.21.

Henry placed 12th in the 200-meter dash at 27.81, while Roach was 17th at 29.62 and Henderson 18th at 29.96.

Boys

Texarkana won the boys meet with 172 points, followed by Benton 159, Lake Hamilton 131, Russellvil­le 80.5, Greenwood 41, El Dorado 40.5, Siloam Springs 27 and Sheridan 10.

Blake Jackson qualified for the state meet in the pole vault with a thirdplace finish of 12 feet and scored six points.

Isaac Knudson qualified in the discus with a throw of 127-2 and scored four points. Kameron Greenlee finished 14th in the discus at 107-5, while Luke Reichenike­r was 20th at 97-3 and Fermin Velis 21st at 94-7.

The Panthers’ 4x800-meter relay team of Chandler Stewart, Charlie Jones, Dillon Ferguson and Miguel Paz is heading to the state meet with a third-place finish of 8:46.73 that scored six points.

Siloam Springs’ 4x100meter relay team of J.D. Horn, Kaiden Thrailkill, Steven Iglesias and Primo Agbehi qualified for the state meet, finishing sixth at 46.28 and scoring three points.

The Panthers’ 4x400-meter relay of Agbehi, Jones, Paz and Beever placed fourth overall and qualified for the state meet with a time of 3:41.84 and scored five points.

Ryke Beever qualified in the 300-meter hurdles with a sixth-place finish of 43.43 and scored three points, while Ian Williams was 18th at 52.33 and Tristen Cunningham 19th at 52.63.

Horn, Agbehi and Thrailkill finished 19th, 20th and 21st in the long jump, respective­ly with marks of 18-1, 18-0.5 and 16-8.

Agbehi placed 12th in the triple jump at 39-0.25, while Horn was 17th at 36-9.

Isaac Knudson placed 11th in the shot put at 386.75, while Fermin Velis was 12th at 38-6, Kameron Greenlee 22nd at 33-7.75 and Dakota Leroy 24th at 30-7.

Horn finished ninth in the 110-meter hurdles at 16.78, while Ryke Beever was 10th at 17.16, Tristen Cunningham 17th at 21.26 and Ian Williams 18th at 22.32.

Agbehi placed 15th in the 100-meter dash at 11.90, while Thrailkill was 17th at 11.95, Steven Iglesias 20th at 12.31 and Spenser Pippin 26th at 12.99.

Lee Thompson placed 16th in the 400-meter dash at 58.07, while Seth Hufford was 21st at 1:01.04 and Pippin 24th at 1:04.26.

Chandler Stewart placed 10th in the 800-meter run at 2:10.18, while Ferguson was 14th at 2:17.20 and Isaac Leachman 17th at 2:17.80.

Agbehi placed ninth in the 200-meter dash at 23.80, while Thrailkill was 12th at 24.20, Horn 14th at 24.62 and Hufford 21st at 25.89.
