Track teams compete at Class 6A state meet

PEARCY — The Siloam Springs girls track team had a second place and three third place finishes Thursday at the Class 6A State Track Meet held at Lake Hamilton High School.

Overall, the Lady Panthers finished ninth as host Lake Hamilton won the meet with 109.5 points, followed by Texarkana 96, Russellvil­le 74, Sheridan 64, Benton 58, Jonesboro 58, El Dorado 49, West Memphis 43, Siloam Springs 42, Little Rock Hall 26, Greenwood 17, Mountain Home 13, Marion 6.5, Searcy 3 and Pine Bluff 3.

Siloam Springs’ 4x800-meter relay team of Allika Pearson, Caroline Farine, Jasmine Guillen and Chloe McGooden finished second with a time of 10 minutes, 39.63 seconds and scored eight points.

Alexis Roach placed third in the girls triple jump with a new school record of 34 feet, 6.5 inches and scored six points.

Pearson placed third in the 1,600-meter run at 5:43.66 and scored six points, while Guillen was seventh at 5:55.01 and scored two points.

Chloe Price was third in the 400-meter dash at 1:03.14 and scored six points.

The Lady Panthers’ 4x100-meter relay team of Sidney Henry, Hadlee Hollenback, Roach and Chloe Price finished eighth in preliminar­ies at 53.20 and then dropped their time to 52.81 and scored one point.

Chloe McGooden, who was the 6A-West Conference champion in the 800-meter run, took fifth in the event at the state meet with a time of 2:36.15 and scored four points. Candy Dubon finished seventh at 2:39.05 and scored two points, while Emma Hulbert was eighth at 2:39.21 and scored one point.

Guillen finished eighth in the 3,200-meter run at 12:46.29 and scored one point.

The Lady Panthers’ 4x400-meter relay team of McGooden, Caroline Farine, Hollenback and Price finished fourth at 4:22.44 and scored five points.

Boys

The Panthers finished 12th overall in the boys meet. Texarkana was first at 148, followed by Lake Hamilton 120, Benton 92.5, Russellvil­le 56, Jonesboro 46, El Dorado 35, Pine Bluff 34, Mountain Home 27, Little Rock Hall 26, Marion 26, Greenwood 18, Siloam Springs 14, Jacksonvil­le 8, West Memphis 5, Searcy 4.5 and Sheridan 1.

Siloam Springs had a pair of third place finishes on the day.

Blake Jackson took third in the pole vault at 12-6 and scored six points.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Chandler Stewart, Charlie Jones, Dillon Ferguson and Miguel Paz finished third at 8:55.94 and scored six points.

The Panthers’ 4x400-meter relay of Agbehi, Jones, Paz and Beever placed seventh and scored two points at 3:41.84.

Isaac Knudson placed 10th in the discus at 112-03.

Ryke Beever was ninth in the 300-meter hurdles at 44.39.

The Panthers’ 4x100-meter relay team of J.D. Horn, Kaiden Thrailkill, Steven Iglesias and Primo Agbehi finished ninth in prelims at 46.13 but didn’t qualify for the finals.
