Friday’s games Searcy 6, El Dorado 0

Senior Emma Mackey scored three goals and Alyssa Burns had two assists and a goal as the Lady Lions defeated the Lady Wildcats in a quarterfin­al game on Friday morning.

Burns scored Searcy’s first goal in the ninth minute, and Meredith Clark made it 2-0 in the 17th minute. Burns and Mackey hooked up for goals before halftime as the Lady Lions (18-1-2) took a 4-0 lead.

Burns and Emily Housely scored goals in the second half.

Benton 2, Mountain Home 1

Benton’s Abby Walker scored a pair of second half goals as the Lady Panthers rallied for the victory over the Lady Bombers.

Mountain Home scored in the fourth minute of the game when Sabra Wickersham found the back of the net, and the Lady Bombers remained ahead 1-0 at halftime.

That changed in the second half when Walker scored her first goal with 34:56 left. She scored again a little more than three minutes later to give the Lady Panthers the lead.

Russellvil­le 5, Greenwood 0

The Lady Cyclones beat Greenwood for the third time this year to advance to the semifinals.

The Lady Cyclones got two goals from Rachel Prochazka and one each from Blakely Walker, Marissa Williams, and Cindy Gonzalez.

Brianna Sparks, Sofy Moreno and Alex Adkins had assists for Russellvil­le.

Thursday’s games Greenwood 5, Jonesboro 1

Greenwood senior Courtney Meyers had a great day in the opening round of the Class 6A girls state soccer tournament.

Meyers scored four goals as the Lady Bulldogs defeated Jonesboro 5-1 in a light rain at Sager Creek Soccer Park.

Meyers scored the game’s first goal in just the third minute, giving Greenwood a 1-0 lead with 37:50 left in the first half.

Meyers scored twice more in the first half as the Lady Bulldogs (7-13) went ahead 3-0 with 11:46 left before halftime.

Carolina Robles got Jonesboro on the board with a goal just a few seconds later as the Lady Hurricane (17-7) pulled within 3-1 at halftime.

Ella Austin got Greenwood’s lead back to up to three goals with a score with 19:08 left in the second half.

Meyers scored her final goal — a 35-yard rocket — with 16:17 left in the game.

Benton 15, LR Hall 0

Benton’s Annah Kate Smith scored two first half goals to set the Lady Panthers’ single-season record at 26 as Benton rolled to a victory.

Abby Walker, Madison McVey and Kinley Ritter also scored two first half goals for Benton, which led 11-0 in the first half. The Lady Panthers added three more goals in the second half.

Texarkana 11, Marion 1

Makenna Ivey and Madison Colbert each scored two goals for Texarkana as the Lady Razorbacks advanced to the quarterfin­als.

Sydnee Pritchett had a goal and an assist in the first half as Texarkana led 3-1 at halftime. Ivey and Madison Colbert also scored first half goals.

Tamara Biddle, Tori Hemperley, Ivey, Hannah Rose, Colbert, Zoie McVay, Autumn Underwood and Casidy Roberts all scored goals in the second half.

Marion’s Hailey Bass scored the Lady Patriots’ goal.

El Dorado 9, West Memphis 0

Carson Henry scored three goals and Angel Leveritt scored two goals as the Lady Wildcats (18-6) rolled into the quarterfin­als.

Caroline Humphreys, Cross Hughes and Autumn Parker added goals for El Dorado.
