Friday’s games LR Hall 3, Benton 1

The Warriors (18-2) advanced to the semifinals with a two-goal victory against the Panthers at Sager Creek Soccer Park.

Jose Giron Rodolfo scored a pair of goals for Hall, while Lester Teletor had a goal and two assists.

The Warriors led 3-0 late in the second half when Benton (17-3-1) got on the scoreboard on a goal by Matt Warrick.

Russellvil­le 4, Jonesboro 2

Russellvil­le scored four goals in the final 26 minutes of the second half to rally for a quarterfin­als victory.

Jonesboro (24-3) led 2-0 after Salisa Yahaya scored on a penalty kick in the first half and Joe Pacheco scored his state record 56th goal in the 22nd minute of the second half.

Russellvil­le’s Nate Turner scored on a penalty kick after a Jonesboro handball in the 18-yard box to make it 2-1. The Cyclones (21-2-2) then tied the game on a goal by Chris Alvarenga.

The Cyclones were awarded another PK after a foul in the box and Alvarenga scored to make it 3-2. Turner added a late goal to set the final score.

Mountain Home 3, El Dorado 0

The Bombers remained undefeated on the season after scoring three first half goals in the win over the Wildcats.

Ewan Platt put the Bombers (17-0) in front 1-0 in the the 18th minute on a penalty kick after an El Dorado player was issued a red card for knocking the ball down with his hands.

Xaco Baonza scored off a Mitch McDonald assist later in the first half, and McDonald capped the Bombers’ scoring with a goal off a Mat Dos Anjos pass.

Thursday’s games Searcy 3, Greenwood 0

Searcy’s boys soccer team punched its ticket to a second-round meeting with top-seed Siloam Springs with a 3-0 shutout victory over Greenwood on Thursday in the opening round of the Class 6A state soccer tournament.

Searcy’s first goal came after a stretch pass downfield bounced over Greenwood’s back line, where striker Johan Mottu collected the ball and sent a shot across senior goalkeeper Aric McKinney and into the top left corner of the goal.

The Lions found the top left corner again when Joseph Oliver received a pass out of a scrum at the top of the goal box with 22 minutes remaining in the half.

The Lions withstood a late Greenwood push and added a second-half goal off an Oliver penalty kick, his second goal of the day.

Benton 6, Marion 0

Garrett Bosley scored a hat trick and Matt Warrick had two headers for goals as Benton advanced to the quarterfin­als.

Aaron Norris added a goal for Benton (17-2-2), which scored three goals in each half.

Warrick had a pair of headers in the first half, while Bosley had a penalty kick goal and an assist. Bosley scored two goals in the second half and Norris added another.

Jonesboro 8, Sheridan 0

The Hurricane raced out to an early 5-0 lead and put in a final goal before halftime to make it 6-0 and cut the second half time to just 20 minutes.

Sophomore striker Joe Pacheco continued his record breaking season with four more goals and two assists, adding to his single-season state record of 55 goals.

Salisu Yahaya added two goals, while Cole McKinney and Oscar Dector also scored goals for Jonesboro.

El Dorado 7, Pine Bluff 0

Addison Miller scored two goals as the Wildcats scored a mercy-rule win against the Zebras.

Tyler Smith, Chase Cottrell, Jesus Loredo and Aidan Price added goals for the Wildcats (8-13-2).
