Walls Talk: Historic Home Tour

The Siloam Springs Museum will be holding the Walls Talk: Historic Home Tour from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., June 22 at the home of Gloria McEnroe, located at 114 South College Street. The home, which is listed on the National Historic Register as the Maxwell-Sweet House, has intriguing stories to reveal. The evening includes guided tours of the home, unveiling of the museum remodel plans; two drink tickets; hors d’oeuvres and desserts; and piano entertainm­ent by Lloyd Whitcomb. Summer Lunch Program

Siloam Springs School District will be hosting a free summer lunch program for all children age 18 and younger, regardless of whether or not they attend school in Siloam Springs. Meals will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning May 30 through Aug. 4 at Allen Elementary School and the Siloam Springs Middle School. Lunch will also be served at three mobile locations, including at 11:15 a.m. by the gazebo at Spring Valley Apartments; 11:45 a.m. at Eliana Chacon Memorial Park; and 12:15 p.m. by the picnic pavilion at Bob Henry Park. Adult meals are available at the Allen and Middle Schools only for $3.50. New this year, volunteers from Potters House are providing fun and free activities for kids at the mobile locations.

Retail Therapy Thursdays

Many downtown Siloam Springs stores will be open late until 7 p.m. every Thursday, now through July 6 for Retail Therapy Thursdays, hosted by Main Street Siloam Springs. The event will give customers a chance to shop, dine and unwind in historic downtown Siloam Springs.

SSHS 1964-1979 Reunion

Siloam Springs High School classes of 1964 through 1979 will be holding a reunion on Sept. 16 at Camp Siloam (Formerly the Baptist Assembly). Registrati­on will be held from 3:30 to 4 p.m., followed by the reunion from 4 to 6 p.m. A meal will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and the evening will continue with entertainm­ent by old high school bands from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Tours will also be held throughout the day, including a tour of the Siloam Springs Museum from 10 a.m. to noon; a downtown walking tour at 11 a.m.; a tour of the new high school at 1 p.m.; and a tour of the old high school on Jefferson Street at 2 p.m. The recommende­d donation for registrati­on is $15 per person and $25 per couple in advance, or $20 per person and $35 per couple at the door. Fishing Derby

The Siloam Springs Parks and Recreation department will host the kids’ fishing derby on Saturday, June 3. The derby will take place along Sager Creek behind the Parks and Recreation building at 120 South Mt. Olive Street from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. The derby is free and limited to ages 3-12 for participan­ts. Prizes will be awarded in several categories.

Movies in the park

A movie night will be hosted in Bob Henry Park near the playground on Friday, June 9. The event, held by the Siloam Springs Parks and Recreation Department, will feature the movie “Moana.” The movie will be shown at 9 p.m., when it gets dark. Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
