Se­nior ex­er­cise op­tions

The Wal­ton Life­time Health Com­plex on the cam­pus of John Brown Univer­sity is a par­tic­i­pat­ing fa­cil­ity for both Sil­verSneak­ers and Sil­ver&Fit pro­grams. Th­ese pro­grams are de­signed for se­nior Medi­care/Med­i­caid el­i­gi­ble mem­bers and of­fer a unique blend of phys­i­cal ac­tiv­ity for all. Classes are of­fered five days a week and are taught by cer­ti­fied in­struc­tors. Classes meet Mon­day through Fri­day from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. There also is a class that meets in the in­door pool on Mon­day, Wed­nes­day and Fri­day called “Splash.” If el­i­gi­ble, a Sil­verSneak­ers or Sil­ver&Fit mem­ber­ship could be cov­ered by in­surance at no charge or for a max­i­mum of $25 a year. Ra­dio Control Model­ers

The Siloam Springs Ra­dio Control Model­ers is a group of lo­cal ra­dio control air­craft fly­ers who fly all types of air­craft models, in­clud­ing fixed wing, he­li­copters, glid­ers, mul­ti­copters and drones at Allen Field on Wauke­sha Road in Siloam Springs.

The club flies each week­end and Wed­nes­day af­ter­noons, weather per­mit­ting. Club meet­ings are held at the Siloam Springs City Air­port in the pi­lot’s lounge on the first Tues­day of even num­bered months. Any­one in­ter­ested in watching the club mem­bers fly or learn­ing about this fun and in­ter­est­ing hobby is wel­come.

Se­nior Ac­tiv­ity & Well­ness Cen­ter

The Siloam Springs Se­nior Ac­tiv­ity and Well­ness Cen­ter, lo­cated at 750 Her­itage Court, serves lunch daily to se­niors 60 and older for a $3 do­na­tion. The cen­ter has an old-time gospel sing ev­ery Tues­day start­ing at 10:30 a.m. There is a wa­ter­color class ev­ery Wed­nes­day. So­cial­iza­tion, Wii bowl­ing & domi­noes go on daily.

Manna Cen­ter Thrift Store

The Manna Cen­ter Thrift Store, lo­cated be­hind the Se­nior Ac­tiv­ity Cen­ter in Siloam Springs, is open to the pub­lic from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mon­day through Fri­day, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Satur­day. Be­cause new mer­chan­dise is put out daily, af­ter an item has been in the store for a month it is half price. Also each week the store will have an item that is $1. Mall trip

The Siloam Springs Se­nior Ac­tiv­ity Cen­ter goes to North­west Arkansas Mall in Fayetteville ev­ery month. Any­one age 60 or over is wel­come to ride along for a $5 do­na­tion. For in­for­ma­tion, call 479-524-5735.

Cloth­ing needed

Com­mu­nity Cloth­ing Closet is open dur­ing the week from noon to 6 p.m., Satur­day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sun­day from 1 to 5 p.m.

Gently used chil­dren’s toys and cloth­ing are needed. Blan­kets are also needed. For in­for­ma­tion, call 479-276-2003.

Thrift store

To­tal Life Com­mu­nity Cen­ter is a thrift store com­plete with clothes, li­brary and a gift shop. The store is lo­cated south of Gen­try on Arkansas High­way 59.
