Hutto lands on All-NWADG girls team
Siloam Springs junior Megan Hutto was named to the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s all-area girls soccer team.
PLAYER OF THE YEAR Audrey Maxwell, Siloam Springs, Jr., 5-7 Two-time all-state selection scored a school record 42 goals and had 18 assists in leading the Lady Panthers to a 24-3 record and their fourth straight Class 6A state championship.
NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR
Georgia Templeton, Fayetteville, Fr., 5-4 Recorded a hat trick in the 7A-West finale at Van Buren and had winning kick during a 4-3 shootout victory against Little Rock Central in the 7A state quarterfinals. Tallied 11 goals and five assists.
COACH OF THE YEAR Kris Henry, Bentonville
Directed Lady Tigers to a 23-2 record, with both losses coming against out-of-state teams, and their second straight 7A state championship.
THE TEAM Gracie Cape, Fayetteville, Sr., 5-10
All-state selection posted 11 shutouts, including seven in conference matches to help her team finish runner-up in the 7A-West. Was 2-0 in shootouts.
Angelina Diaz, Bentonville High, Fr., 5-7
All-state selection who was third on the Lady Tigers with 11 goals and added seven assists through 17 matches.
Micayla Faught, Rogers Heritage, Sr., 5-8
Earned all-state honors for the second consecutive seasons with 94 saves this year and will play for Graceland University.
Caila Hanus, Bentonville High, Sr., 5-7
All-state selection who led the Lady Tigers’ defense and was named the 7A-West Conference’s defensive player of the year.
Lauren Hargus, Bentonville High, Sr., 5-10
All-state selection who led the Lady Tigers with 32 goals and 23 assists, including a hat trick in the Class 7A state championship match. Signed with Central Arkansas.
Megan Hutto, Siloam Springs, Jr., 5-8
Earned all-state honors for second straight year after scoring 25 goals and recording a school record 22 assists as the Lady Panthers won their fourth straight state title.
Bailey Lindsey, Fayetteville, Sr., 5-6
All-state and All-Star selection was a defensive stopper who helped her team secure 11 shutouts and 12 goals against all season. Also added three goals.
Chela Razo, Springdale High, Sr., 5-4
A 2017 All-State selection, Razo scored 15 goals and recorded six assists to lead the Springdale girls soccer program to its first state tournament appearance in a decade.
Vanessa Reynoso, Springdale Har-Ber, Sr., 5-4
Assisted on a team-high 20 goals while netting eight of her own, leading the Lady Wildcats to a 2017 state semifinals appearance.
Sienna Nealon, Rogers High, Sr., 5-6
Scored team-high 14 goals with six assists and earned first-team All-7A-West Conference and will play for John Brown University.
Emma Welch, Bentonville High, Sr., 5-5
Finished second on the Lady Tigers with 14 goals and 13 assists. Was selected to the all-state and all-star teams, and signed with Harding.
