Tax receipts up in June

Siloam Springs sales tax receipts were up $44,553 in June compared to the same month last year.

Sales tax receipts were $611,995 in June 2017, compared to $567,442 in June 2016, according to the July issue of City & Town Magazine.

County sales tax receipts were up $22,672 from $215,562 in June 2016 to $238,235 in June, 2017.

The city’s sales tax receipts come from its 2 percent sales tax. The total sales tax rate in Siloam Springs is 9.5 percent.

City sales tax receipts are used for utility infrastruc­ture, repayment of wastewater treatment plant bonds, the city’s general fund, public safety and the street department.

A share of county sales tax

receipts pays on two water utility infrastruc­ture bonds.

Other cities that saw an increase in city sales tax receipts were:

• Bentonvill­e, up $350,063 to $1.68 million

• Fayettevil­le, up $146,742 to $3.46 million

• Gentry, up $6,361 to $48,703

• Lincoln, up $922 to $39,258

• Rogers, up $65,388 to $2.88 million

• Springdale, up $210,025 to $2.25 million.

Cities that saw a decrease in city sales tax receipts were:

• Eureka Springs, down $8,451 to $189,737
