Rosetta LaVaun Thomas, 76, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, passed away on July 26, 2017, at the Circle of Life in Springdale, Arkansas. LaVaun was born on June 29, 1941, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado, Kansas. She was born to M.R. “Christine” Healy and Clifton F. Healy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clifton “Cliff” Healy; and grandson, Evan Thomas. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmothe­r, and friend to many.

LaVaun is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Duane “Doc” Thomas; one daughter, Julie and her husband, Joe Bradshaw of Arkadelphi­a, Arkansas; one son, Mark Thomas of Siloam Springs; one brother, Roger and wife Marla Healy of Parker, Colorado; one sister-in-law, Francis Healy of Augusta, Kansas; three special grandchild­ren, Jace and his wife Brooke of Little Rock, Arkansas, Allianne and Owen Thomas of Siloam Springs; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

LaVaun was a graduating member of Towanda High School, Kansas in 1959. She obtained an associate degree at El Dorado Junior College and was a certified dental assistant before working with her husband as a book-keeper in his veterinary practice in Wisconsin and in Siloam Springs for 35 years. LaVaun served 10 years on the Siloam Springs Hospital Board and two years on the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital Foundation. She was active in Siloam Springs Hospital Auxiliary, Rotary Ann’s, American Associatio­n of Veterinary Auxiliary, and First Baptist Church in choir and youth ministry for 50 years. She enjoyed visiting and correspond­ing with friends.

The family invites you to celebrate the life of LaVaun at First Baptist Church, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11 a.m.
