SSHS vol­ley­ball falls at Harrison

HARRISON — The Siloam Springs vol­ley­ball team dropped its first 5A/6A Dis­trict 1 match of the sea­son Thurs­day with a 3-1 loss to Harrison at Goblin Arena.

Harrison took a 2-0 lead with 25-18 and 25-16 wins in games one and two, re­spec­tively. The Lady Pan­thers came back and won game three 25-14, but Harrison fin­ished off the match with a 25-18 win in game four.

“We didn’t pass the ball well enough to win,” said head coach Joellen Wright. “Of­fen­sively, Harrison was very bal­anced and crafty with their ball place­ment.”

The loss drops the Lady Pan­thers’ record to 1-9 over­all and 0-1 in 5A/6A Dis­trict 1 play.

El­lie Lamp­ton led the Lady Pan­thers with 15 kills to go with eight digs, one block and one ace. Ken­lie Noel had four kills, two digs and one block, while Chloe Price had three kills, 15 digs, two blocks and 28 as­sists.

Reigan Brown also had three kills with two aces and two digs, while Al­lie Bow­man had two kills, two aces and 12 digs. Katie Ken­drick had a kill and eight digs, and Madi­son Lanker had one kill.

Madi­son Hall had 11 digs, while Kirsten Loftis and Maddy Lasater each had four digs and Annabelle Van Asche three digs.

The Lady Pan­thers’ ju­nior var­sity team picked up a 2-1 win, fall­ing 25-10 in game one but win­ning the next two 25-18, 15-5.

The Lady Pan­thers re­turn to 5A/6A Dis­trict ac­tion on Tuesday at home against Clarksville. A ju­nior var­sity match is sched­uled to be­gin at 5 p.m. fol­lowed by the var­sity match around 6 p.m.
