FAYETTEVILLE — The Siloam Springs girls golf team picked up their third victory of the season Thursday with a 129-131 victory over Fayetteville at Fayetteville Country Club.

Senior Brinkley Beever earned the medalist honors with a nine-hole round of 39. Junior McKenzie Blanchard shot a 44, while junior Kaitlyn Robinson shot 46, junior Jaelee Snyder a 54 and freshman Makenna Thomas a 55.

“The girls have had a very good couple of weeks,” said head coach Michael Robertson. “Wins over Greenwood and Fayetteville are huge. They are playing well right now and playing with confidence. It is fun to see them learning how to score well even when things are not going like they want between tee and green. Looking forward to seeing where we are in a few weeks.”

Sarah West led Fayetteville with a score of 42, followed by Anna Rechtin 43, Anna Witte 46 and Starling Ledbetter 57.

Fayetteville won the boys match 142-176.

Junior Karson Clement led the Panthers with a round of 39, while sophomore Evan Sauer shot 45, sophomore Luke Baker and juniors Trey Jackson and Josh Johnson with 46 and 47, respectively.

“Great to see our boys bounce back against Fayetteville and play much better,” Robertson said. “This was our third match in a row on a course that none of our kids had played on. There is always a learning curve with that, but I was glad to see all of our guys play better today. I think all of them were very close to scoring good rounds today and that’s the improvement we are looking for.”

Jackson Cole led the Bulldogs with a score of 34, Jacob Nolen 35, Denver Davis 36 and Fisher Vollendorf and Palmer McSpadden each with 37.
