Ten­nis to com­pete in 6A-West tour­na­ment

The Siloam Springs ten­nis teams head to Lit­tle Rock’s Reb­samen Ten­nis Cen­ter on Mon­day for the 6A-West Con­fer­ence Ten­nis Tour­na­ment. Boys and girls play­ers, in sin­gles and dou­bles, must win at least two games in or­der to ad­vance to the Class 6A State Tour­na­ment, which will be held Oct. 16-17 at Burns Park in North Lit­tle Rock.

On the boys side, Siloam Springs has al­ready picked up one victory as boys No. 1 sin­gles seed Orest Los re­ceived a first-round bye af­ter Sheri­dan did not field a sec­ond sin­gles player.

Los, a se­nior who has not lost any 6A matches this sea­son, will only have to win his sec­ond round match to ad­vance to the 6A state tour­na­ment. He will play the win­ner of Mon­day’s open­ing round match be­tween Sheri­dan’s Nathan Kirk­patrick and Texarkana’s Blaine Martin.

Also in boys sin­gles, No. 11 seed Zayn Snow will play No. 6 seed Ja­cob Praet­zel of Lake Hamil­ton.

In boys dou­bles, the team of Caio Fre­itas and Joshua Bulling­ton earned the No. 3 seed and will face No. 14 seed Ha­gan Rus­sell and Abra­ham Liera of Lake Hamil­ton.

The dou­bles team of Trey Hard­cas­tle and Avery Lang were seed 13th and will play No. 4 seed Aus­ton Shown and Eli But­ler of Greenwood.

In girls sin­gles, Brooke Hutto was seeded No. 9 and will face Ja­vanna Cet­nik of Lake Hamil­ton, the No. 8 seed. Va­lerie Lee was the No. 15 seed and will face No. 2 seed Macy Barker of El Do­rado in the open­ing round.

In girls dou­bles, Caro­line Dinger and Averie Head­rick earned the tour­na­ment’s fifth seed and will go up against No. 12 seed Darby Dunn and Ash­ley Perez of Lake Hamil­ton.

Kacey Soderquist and Eve Slater earned the No. 11 seed and will play No. 6 seed Rae­gan Hickam and Christin Har­ris of Lake Hamil­ton.
