SSHS students make All-Region Choir
Twenty-six Siloam Springs High School students recently made the Region 6 All-Region Choir.
Students who competed in the audition practiced for nearly two months to prepare, according to Julianna Tufts, head choir director. They competed against other students from other area schools, including Bentonville, Rogers, Gentry, Pea Ridge, Mountain Home and Harrison. Each student is given a ranking and if the ranking is high enough, they make the choir, she said.
“Congratulations to the 26 Siloam Springs High School students that made either the junior high or high school all-region choir,” Tufts said.
On Nov. 4, students who made the choir will practice at a day-long rehearsal and give public performances that evening. Junior high students, in grades seven through nine, will perform at 4 p.m. at Bentonville High School. Senior high students, in grades 10 through 12, will perform at 6 p.m. at Bentonville High School.
All 10th through 12th grade Siloam Springs students who made the choir also qualify to audition for the All-State Choir in February. The high school choir program is under the direction of Tufts and Ethan Wells, assistant director.
