Siloam Springs bowlers strong at state

Jordan Barker and Nathaniel Brown had strong performanc­es to lead Siloam Springs boys to a fifth-place finish at the 7A/6A State Bowling Tournament at Fort Smith’s Bowling World on Thursday. The Panthers finished with a total team score of 4,077 behind Barker’s teamhigh score of 655, which earned him All-State honors as the fourth highest total by an individual. Barker bowled games of 192, 244 and 219 for a solid 218.3 average. Brown also earned All-State honors by finishing ninth overall. He rolled a 199198-211 for a total score of 608. Also bolstering the Panthers’ team total were Tristan Moose (21st place, 567 total), Jacob Drum (32nd, 555) and Jacob Elledge (56th, 489). Nate Wolfe chipped in a two-game total of 331 and Jackson Knight scored a 135 in his lone game. Fort Smith Southside won the boys division with a 4,335 followed by Cabot (4,221), Bentonvill­e (4,104) and Benton (4,077). In the girls state championsh­ip, Siloam Springs came in seventh overall by rolling a combined 3,137 as a team. Cabot’s girls (3,523) won the championsh­ip with Rogers Heritage (3,517) finishing runner-up and Bentonvill­e (3,343) coming in third. Baylie Mullikin was the Lady Panthers’ highest individual finisher, coming in 14th overall with games of 163-188143 for a total of 494. Holly Green and Hannah Barker finished 27th and 28th with totals of 452 and 451, respective­ly. Tessa Brown chipped in a three-game total of 390. Chrystine Ingerson and Sydney Smith rounded out the team scoring with two-game scores of 248 and 240, respective­ly.
