Lee Roy McMillan

Lee Roy McMillan of the Fayettevil­le Veterans Home, arrived at his heavenly home on Feb. 27, 2018. Lee Roy was laid to rest in peace at the Fayettevil­le National Cemetery on Friday, March 2, 2018.

Born Oct. 1, 1937, he was preceded in death by his parents, Carman and Mary (Hanson) McMillan of Bentonvill­e, Arkansas; a brother, Vernon McMillan; a son, Dennis Dwayne McMillan; and a daughter, Brenda Lea McMillan.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki Smiley McMillan; three sons, Rusty (Alicia) McMillan of Yamarangui­la, Honduras, Dennis (Tessy) McMillan of Bentonvill­e and Lee Roy McMillan II of Fayettevil­le; and two daughters, La Vonn (Danny) Foreman of Decatur and Ronda (Kenneth) Vaughan of Bethel Heights.

He is also survived by sisters, Onita Brandon, Wanda (Troy) Lovell and Mary Jane (Dale) Hepler; and brother, Roy Gene McMillan; 10 grandchild­ren; nine great-grandchild­ren; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Lee Roy lived most of his life in Northwest Arkansas as a farmer, television technician and auctioneer. He served his country honorably as an airplane mechanic in the Air Force. He enjoyed camping, fishing, canoeing, hunting and racing cars. He always enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and raising flowers.

Mary “Sue” Groomer, 75, of Kansas, Okla., died Feb. 15, 2018, at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2018, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs, Ark.

Wenford Owens

Wenford Owens, 85, of Colcord, Okla., died on Feb. 26, 2018, at his home.

He was born on Feb. 27, 1932, in Alene, Ark., to Ted Owens and Othia Hunt Owens. He was a plant manager for over 35 years with Webb Wheel. He was a member of West Siloam Springs (Okla.) Assembly of God.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Reba.

He is survived by a son, Ronnie Owens and wife Janita of Colcord; a daughter, Gail Blankenshi­p and husband David of Colcord; five grandchild­ren; nine great-grandchild­ren; two great-great-grandchild­ren; four brothers, Norman Owens of Phoenix, Ariz., Fred Owens of Tecumseh, Okla., Leroy Owens of Phoenix and Curtis Owens of Claremore, Okla.; and a sister, Gladys Brown of Denton, Texas.

Funeral services were March 2, 2018, at West Siloam Springs Assembly of God, with Pastor Terry Scott officiatin­g. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery.
