Girls relays shine at McDonald’s Relays

The Siloam Springs varsity girls track team finished ninth out of 26 teams Thursday at the McDonald’s Relays held at Fort Smith Southside’s Jim Rowland Stadium.

The Lady Panthers scored 22 points at the meet, which was attended by a mixture of large and small schools and was won by Bentonvill­e with 152 points.

The Lady Panthers scored 14 of their points in two relays.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Allika Pearson, Rebekah Rodgers, Emma Hulbert and Chloe McGooden placed second and scored eight points with a time of 10 minutes, 24.28 seconds in the finals, an improvemen­t of their previous time of 10:39.44.

The Lady Panthers’ 4x400-meter relay team of McGooden, Hadlee Hollenback, Elyse Perdue and Chloe Price finished third and scored six points with a time of 4:24.28 in the finals after finishing at 4:26.54 in the heat.

Hollenback scored five points and finished fourth in the finals of the 300-meter hurdles at 51.07. Hollenback ran a time of 50.35 in the heat. Rodgers scored two points at 51.81 in the finals after running 51.96 in the heat.

Price scored a point with an eighth-place finish in the 400-meter dash at 1:01.86, while McGooden was 13th at 1:03.41.

Pearson placed ninth in the 1,600-meter run at 5:42.49 in the finals after running a 5:32.34 in the heat, while Brittany Pilcher was 13th at 6:07.23 in the finals after running a 6:21.00.

Emma Hulbert placed 10th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:35.11 in the finals after running a time of 2:34.46 in the heat, while Candy Dubon ran a time of 2:35.94 in the heat but did not run a finals time.

The Lady Panthers 4x100-meter relay team of Madison Pharr, Price, Elyse Perdue and Hollenback finished 11th at 54.69 in the finals after running a 53.69 in the heat.

Ella Zaidner placed 13th in the 100-meter hurdles at 18.27 in the finals after running a 17.97 in the heat.

Madison Pharr placed 17th in the 200-meter dash at 29.94.

Maggie Mathe took 18th in the triple jump at 29-7 in the finals after jumping 29-6.5 in the heat. Rebekah Rodgers jumped a 30-3.5 in the heat but had a 28-10 in the finals.

Brooke Henderson ran a time of 13.69 in the 100-meter dash in her heat but did not register a time in the finals.

Claudia Mercado ran a time of 13:42.19 in the heat of the 3,200-meter run but did not post a finals time.

Boys

The varsity boys scored six points and finished 19th overall out of 27 schools.

Springdale Har-Ber won the meet with 112 points.

Primo Agbehi placed fifht and scored four points in the long jump at 20-4.5 in the finals after recording a mark of 21-0 in the heat. Murphy Perkins had a mark of 18-7.5 in the finals after a jump of 20-1 in the heat.

Agbehi placed eight in the triple jump at 40-10 in the finals after a mark of 41-7.5 in the heat. Wakefield finished 18th at 38-0.5 in the finals after a score of 39-2.5 in the heat.

The Panthers’ 4x100meter relay team of Jacob Wakefield, Murphy Perkins, Kaiden Thrailkill and Primo Agbehi took eighth and scored one point with a time of 45.13 in the finals after running a 44.57 in the heat.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Agbehi, Perkins, Wakefield and Miguel Paz placed 13th in the finals with a time of 3:45.91 after running a team of 3:47.20 in the heat.

Fermin Velis palced 12th in the shot put at 41-2 in the finals, an improvemen­t from his mark of 40-11.75 in the heat. Thrailkill had a mark of 40-9.5 in the heat.

Isaac Knudsen was 10th in the discus at 130-8 in the finals after a mark of 127-7 in the heat, while Kameron Greenlee threw a 115-4 in the finals and finished 17th after throwing a 123-7 in the heat.

Perkins finished 18th in the 100-meter dash at 11.88 in the finals after a time of 11.40 in the heat, while Thrailkill ran a time of 11.55 in the heat but did not record a finals time.

Thrailkill placed 32nd in the 300-meter hurdles at 47.35 in the finals after running a time of 47.49 in the heat.

Paz ran a time of 2:13.04 in the heat of the 800-meter run but did not record a finals time.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Dillon Ferguson, Paz, Chase Mills and Adam Kennedy ran a time of 9:44.94 in the heat but did not record a finals time.

Wakefield had a jump of 5-10 in the high jump heat but did not record a finals mark.

The Panthers and Lady Panthers are scheduled to compete in the 6A-West Conference Meet at Lake Hamilton on Friday.
