Spring Valley Anglers Rod & Gun Club is a sporting club headquartered in Northwest Arkansas. They offer individual and corporate members exclusive access to private, world-class fishing and hunting properties with luxury lodging and chefprepared meals. Adam Maris founded the club 13 years ago, right out of college. “I grew up in Tulsa and used to caddy at Southern Hills Country Club,” noted Maris. “So, the vision behind Spring Valley was to be a fishing and hunting club similar to a golf country club and as we’ve grown we’ve also focused on Corporate Retreats and Meetings offering upscale amenities in a private setting.” Spring Valley Anglers Rod & Gun Club has become a premier and exclusive sporting club offering many different activities and amenities for their members and guests to enjoy. For those who enjoy sporting activities, part of the enjoyment is the solitude and the beauty of the surroundings. It is for this reason that Spring Valley Anglers Rod & Gun Club seeks to preserve, conserve, and protect private streams and acreage with the purpose of restoring and managing fish and wildlife habitat. “My philosophy has always been to fence cattle off so they can’t get into the creek, and provide them with an alternate water source and everybody wins. For us, it’s about preserving and conserving that buffer zone, which is approximately 300 feet on either side of the creek,” stated Maris. The club also monitors the water quality, making sure that nothing they do impacts the nitrates and phosphates. “On the hunting side, we manage habitat and game to achieve trophy status and we cull out poor genetics and control predators,” added Maris. “We are also very active in planting food and enhancing habitat for wildlife. We are one of the few businesses in this day and age that is trying to keep the woods and the water as pristine as possible.” Membership with Spring Valley Anglers Rod & Gun Club allows members to fish, shoot and/or hunt as often as they’d like as long as the hunting is in season. Amenities include lodging with overnight accommodations, indoor/outdoor meeting spaces for up to 85, a full sporting clays course, pistol/rifle range, fly fishing, golf and hunting on private property. “In addition to Northwest Arkansas, we have a couple hundred thousand acres that we lease for hunting and fishing,” noted Maris. “This includes areas in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, South Dakota.” The application process begins with a call or email to the club. Maris will then personally meet with each prospective member and go through the details of the club in person. “A focus of ours is to be stewards of the land so that when our kids are our age, they can enjoy it as well,” added Maris.
