Ruth Davis, 81, of Summers, Ark., died on July 14, 2018, in Fayettevil­le, Ark., after a long battle with cancer.

She was the daughter of Virgil and Clarice Fusselman.

She graduated from high school in Siloam Springs, Ark.. She married Harrison Davis on July 29, 1960, in Springdale, Ark. She worked as a telephone operator for Southweste­rn Bell, a farmer, and worked at Walton’s 5 & 10 in Fayettevil­le in the 1950s. She was an active member of Summers Missionary Baptist Church. In her younger years, she was active teaching Sunday School and working at Bible school and church camp. She loved gardening, sewing and feeding birds. She was active at the Rogers Sewing Center and many other organizati­ons through the years. She had been a member of Northwest Arkansas District Extension Homemakers, serving as a judge for clothing at several county fairs.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Harrison; one son, Tim Davis of Summers; sister, Velma Surles of Fayettevil­le; nieces and nephews; and many friends. She will be missed.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Ark.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, with Pastor Paul Young officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ark.
