What started out as a fast-paced pitchers’ duel quickly became a onesided slugfest, as Siloam Springs erupted for seven fourth-inning runs and went on to crush Rogers Bob Maloney Ford 13-3 to win the Area I American Legion Baseball Tournament July 27. Siloam Springs then advanced to the State American Legion Tournament in Little Rock Aug. 6-10.

Siloam Springs finished the season 13-12 overall, 7-7 in Area I and entered the tourney as the sixth seed. But they swept through the tournament undefeated (4-0), knocking off top-seeded Fayetteville and second-seeded Rogers twice.
