Boys take fourth in junior high race, girls place third
The Siloam Springs junior high boys placed fourth overall at the Panther Cross Country Classic on Saturday on the grounds of Simmons Foods.
A total of 363 runners competed in the large school (5A-7A) division of the race, while another 118 were competing in small school (1A-4A).
Bentonville High won the race with 72 points, followed by Rogers 81, Fayetteville Ramay 86, Siloam Springs 88, Fayetteville High 134, Springdale Central 147, Greenwood 165, Fayetteville Woodland 201, Russellville 222, Bentonville Washington 230, Springdale George 361, Rogers Heritage 379 and Don Tyson School of Innovation 417.
Wilson Cunningham led the Panthers with a ninthplace finish of 11:58.70.
Javier Chavez was 16th at 12:09.36, while Levi Fox was 19th at 12:10.50 and Nathan Hawbaker 20th at 12:10.79.
Noah Granderson placed 24th at 12:17.70, while Dane Kelly was 31st at 12:28.69 and Connor Claton 43rd at 12:48.50 to complete Siloam Springs’ top seven finishers.
Liam Scott finished with a time of 12:51.78, followed by Tyler Cottrell 13:29.69, Camden Blackfox 13:32.45, Nathan Vachon 13:40.63, Cooper Shaw 13:47.71, Tate Broquard 13:50.33, Charlie Hyde 13:57.25, Cayden Hansen 13:58.67, Barrett Eldridge 13:59.21, Ben Haak 14:24.65, Thad Goetz 15:01.41 and Caleb Wallace 15:03.78.
Also running for Siloam Springs was Samuel Herndon 15:04.22, Caleb Rodgers 15:04.53, Truman Janes 15:06.22, Bryson Yeager 15:08.62, Nathen Thurstenson 15:18.23, Riley Owens 15:31.23, Keegan Hansen 15:32.21, Jared Brewer 15:39.29, Ezekiel Becan 15:55.76, Malachi Becan 15:56.19, Ben Stout 16:52.50, Ivan Parra 17:20.05, Jacob Moorman 17:52.09, Noah Sharp 18:13.27 and Rowan Turner 20:30.02.
West Fork boys finished first in small school division with 69 points.
Girls
Siloam Springs finished third in the large school (5A-7A) junior high girls division of the race.
A total of 260 runners competed in the junior high girls division with another 103 in the small school race, which was won by Haas Hall.
Fayetteville Woodland won the large school (5A7A) girls division with 37 points, followed by Rogers High 79, Siloam Springs 96, Bentonville Washington 97, Greenwood 141, Springdale Central 155, Fayetteville High 164, Russellville 192, Fayetteville Ramay 196 and Springdale George 325.
Emily Brown finished ninth overall with a time of 13:31.81 to lead Siloam Springs.
Shelby Smith was 11th at 13:33.12 and Ellen Slater 17th at 14:08.04.
Addison Pilcher took 24th at 14:33.38, followed by Jacilyn Weilnah in 35th at 14:54.22, Jaslyn Brenes 45th at 15:44.36 and Kadynce Hilburn 47th at 15:48.35.
Laurel Granderson ran a time of 16:04.28, while Shayla Conley finished in 16:07.84, Faith Harris 17:10.66, Chloe Granderson 17:23.86, Ava Anglin 17:48.80, Crystal Mercado 17:49.63, Avery Carter 17:55.64, Nyah Hostler 18:00.73, Lilian Wilkie 18:16.75 and Anna Floyd 18:23.00.
Also running for Siloam Springs was Lexi Lane 18:32.78, Leahla Schochler 18:45.46, Vivian Conroy 19:14.44, Laura Fields 19:52.17, Joy Nam 19:54.84, Jenna Keys 20:38.53, Ridley Floyd 20:39.01, Hannah Green 27:08.38 and Mary Thurstenson 28:05.81.
