Brian Wayne Browers

Brian Wayne Browers, 48, of Hiwassee, Ark., died Sept. 23, 2018, at Northwest Medical Center, Bentonvill­e, Ark.

He was born Sept. 8, 1970, in Rogers, Ark., the son of Ralph Wayne Browers and Ilene Beverly Bingham Browers. He was a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his children, Ashley Browers of Bentonvill­e, Emily Browers of Bella Vista, Ark., and Logan Browers of Gravette, Ark.; his mother, Ilene Browers of Gravette; father, Wayne Browers of Springdale, Ark.; three grandchild­ren; sisters, Melanie Rounds of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Marsha Graham of Gravette.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Ark.

David Leon Cannon

David Leon Cannon, 79, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed from this life on September 19, 2018. David was born December 29, 1938, to Fred and Polly Anna (Roughton) Cannon in Delaware County, Oklahoma.

He attended grade school at Beaver Springs, in a one-room schoolhous­e founded by his grandfathe­r, who had the school chartered by the Cherokee Nation. He was a 1956 graduate of Colcord (Oklahoma) High School, where he was a member of the basketball team. He also played basketball for Connors State College in Warner, Oklahoma.

In 1956, he married Donna Porter. They had three children, Hal and Tim Cannon, and Mariesa Cannon Estes. That marriage ended and on September 14, 1973, he married Nola June Davenport Topping, who also brought three children to their family; Danny and Donald Topping, and Susie Topping Murrell.

He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma, and was a longtime member of Grandview Church of Christ and more recently Southpoint Church of Christ in Kansas City, Missouri.

He worked in the constructi­on field when he was young and then for Porter Roofing for many years as a Roofing Estimator and later for SPEC as a Roofing and Materials Salesman before retiring.

Later in life, he learned woodcarvin­g, creating beautiful works of art honoring his Cherokee heritage. At the time of his death, he was learning to draw.

David enjoyed target shooting, walking his dogs, and spending time with his family at their cabin in Brumley, Missouri. He had a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. No one spent time in his presence without laughing.

David was a caring husband, and was devoted to taking care of his wife Nola in her later years. Theirs was an inspiring example of a loving and committed marriage. He continued to visit residents and employees at Delmar Gardens of Overland Park where Nola lived at the end of her life. He was also a hospice volunteer and volunteer poker dealer at several nursing homes.

David was a steadfast, kind, and loving presence for his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife Nola; his parents; sister, Letty Jo Johnson; brother, Bob Morton Cannon; and step-son, Danny Topping.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Lex and Janie Cannon of Colcord, Oklahoma; his children, Hal and Tim Cannon of Colcord, Oklahoma, Mariesa Cannon Estes of Kansas City, Missouri, Donald Topping and his wife Ally of Grandview, Missouri, and Susie Topping Murrell and her husband Jeff of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; grandchild­ren; great-grandchild­ren; and many family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, on Wednesday, September 26. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. and funeral at 7 p.m. On Thursday, September 27, visitation will be held at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, from 1-3 p.m. Interment is immediatel­y following at Bell Cemetery in Adair County, Oklahoma.

Robert ‘Bob’ Leonard Carter

Robert “Bob” Leonard Carter, 66, died Aug. 24, 2018, in Kansas, Okla.

He was born March 16, 1952, in Bakersfiel­d, Calif., to Roy and Roberta Baker Carter. He served in the Army and the Army National Guard. He was employed by Franklin Electric until it closed. His hobbies were fishing and telling stories.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leroy and Melvin; first wife, Ruby in 2005; second wife, Shelia in 2018.

He is survived by his children, Chelle, Jeff and Robi Jo; one brother, Sheldon (Connie) Carter of Cincinnati, Ark.; three sisters, Brenda (Russell) Douthit of Oklahoma City, Okla., Trish (Devin) Houston and Janet (Alvin) Hall of Siloam Springs, Ark.; and nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was buried at the Old Union Cemetery in Cincinnati on Sept. 23, 2018.

Barbara June Daniels

Barbara June Daniels, 88, of Watts, Okla., died on Sept. 22, 2018, at her home.

She was born on Sept. 18, 1930, in Mansfield, Ark., to Theo Black and Ruth Farr Black. She married Hershel Daniels on March 16, 1956, in Watts, Okla., and they were married for 61 years. She was a homemaker who was an exceptiona­l cook and loved to sew. She also worked for the Siloam Springs Veterinary Clinic for many years as a receptioni­st and bookkeeper. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Watts.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Ruthie; and two grandchild­ren.

She is survived by daughters, Melissa Holmes and husband Whit of Benton, Miss., and Robin Nolan and husband Tim of Windsor, Ontario; son, Ernest “Ernie” Len Daniels of Gentry, Ark.; five grandchild­ren; and four greatgrand­children.

Sadie Opal Hollaway

Sadie Opal Hollaway, 95, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died on Sept. 23, 2018, at her home.

She was born on Aug. 4, 1923, in Dabney, Ark., to William Edgar “Ed” Beverage and Mattie Bell Franklin Beverage. She married Ulas Hollaway on July 20, 1940, in Yuma, Ariz. She was a daycare operator for many years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Siloam Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Billy Ray; daughter, Darlene Eaves; granddaugh­ter, Teresa Pierce; two sisters; and two brothers.

She is survived by daughter, Joan Stalnaker of Neosho, Mo.; son, Bob Hollaway of Siloam Springs; brother, Paul Beverage of Kingsland, Ark.; three sisters, Elda Mae Allen of Siloam Springs, Ruby Hickerson of Louisville, Ky., and Wanda Goodman of Wright, Okla.; many grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren, and great-greatgrand­children.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at First Christian Church in Siloam Springs, with Pastor Joel Rutherford officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Gentry Cemetery, Gentry, Ark.
