Indian taco fundraiser dinner

A fundraiser dinner featuring authentic Indian tacos prepared by the famous Ed Proctor will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at the old school cafeteria, 215 S. Black Ave., in Sulphur Springs. Meals will feature Indian tacos, drink and dessert. Cost will be $8 for adults, $4 for children under 10. Carryouts will be available. Weddington Memories Book

The Weddington Memories Book is ready to go to press. The 300-page history of the area and families has been in the making for more than four years and contains many genealogie­s, pictures and histories. Copies are $20 or $25 shipped. A special potluck will be held to collect orders at 11 a.m. Sept. 29 at the Weddington Community Building.

SSWG to announce winners

On Monday, Oct. 8, the Siloam Springs Writers Guild will announce the winners of the Siloam Springs area 2018 Roy Chesney Poetry Contest. The Guild will meet at First Baptist Church, 2000 Dawn Hill Rd., inside the west entrance at 6 p.m. Prizes will be awarded and winning poem entries read. Assignment­s for October are to be emailed to sswgsisp@gmail.com between Sept. 20 and Oct. 1 are: Prose — “Thankful for My Heritage,” and Poetry — a Harvest Sonnet. American Legion Family Fun Fest

American Legion Post 29 and the American Legion Auxiliary present the 2018 Family Fun Fest from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the American Legion Community Building. The event will include a pancake and sausage breakfast, bounce house and silent auction. Admission is free. The suggested donation for breakfast is $6 for adults, $4 for children age 4-12 and free for children under 4.

Learn to play Bridge

Learn to play Bridge weekly beginning Monday, Oct. 1 through Dec. 17, at Siloam Springs Senior Activity Center.

SSHS senior ballot issue showcase

Siloam Springs High School senior students will be showcasing commercial­s they are researchin­g and creating as part of a project to inform the public about the various ballot issues in Arkansas in the upcoming November election. The showcase will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5. The public is invited to attend.
