Colcord suffers first loss of the season

COMMERCE, Okla. — The Commerce Tigers handed the Colcord Hornets their first loss of the season Friday 36-14 at Commerce.

With the game tied 1414 at halftime, Commerce scored 22 points in the second half to earn the victory.

Colcord quarterbac­k Raven Difrancisc­o rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns, while passing for 106 yards. Blake Gonzalez had 21 carries for 135 yards.

Dustin Foreman caught four passes for 57 yards to lead Colcord (4-1, 1-1 District 6-1A) in receiving.

Colcord hosts Afton this week.

Salina 27, Kansas 20

KANSAS, Okla. – Kansas dropped to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in District 2A-4 with the 27-20 loss to Salina at Dee Neel Stadium.

Kansas led 14-0 after the first quarter and 20-7 at halftime before Salina outscored the Comets 20-0 in the second half.

Easton Wiggins completed 13 of 31 passes for 138 yards, two touchdowns and four intercepti­ons.

Daris Glass rushed for 79 yards on 21 carries, while Chance Kolysko caught five passes for 51 yards.

The Comets play at Chelsea this week.

Watts 46, Arkoma 20

ARKOMA, Okla. — Watts improved to 5-0 on the year with the victory at Arkoma.

The Engineers host Regent Prep this week to open District B-8 play, while Foyil visits Oaks in another B-8 game. Oaks was idle this past week.
